Kid had a great game. Standout performance from him today. Hope he can continue to grow on this experience.

He played some nice defense too. I wish he had a better vertical, but does a really nice job with what he’s got.

Same. But Brian Cardinal (Purdue) had a nice college and pro career as a garbage man. If Ryan Young can get us that sort of productivity, I’ll be thrilled.

He needs to get stronger if he wants to put up numbers against big opponents, but flashes good basketball iq and has good footwork.

Terrific game by Young. He dished out four assists and had two steals as well. Loved the perfect footwork on his first basket and his passing early in the game. This is going to be a very interesting season to watch as these young players emerge.

10 words that pretty much describe Ryan Young.

Even though he was greatly helped by facing opposition that was 6'7 tops, he showed some move. A fast spin move and a particular basket I liked where he jumps away, to the right of the defender, giving himself enough space to not worry about being blocked.

He has a high basketball IQ. I can see him develop some moves that work for him against proper bigs in conference play.

I worry about him in big ten play. He does a lot with what he has, agreed but big ten bugs are a different beast.

Can't resist. Big Ten bugs are definitely a different beast!

No kidding! this one's named Tyler. Oops, wrong board. I meant Cofi.

Ryan looks smooth near the basket. Decent touch. He tries to set screens and seems steady when he touches the ball which means he can help against traps and inbounds. For a RS FY he is doing great.

He has been pretty solid. Seems to be in the right place and his footwork seems to be excellent. No one really expected much but he has been pretty steady

I expected him to play well, just not so soon in his career.

Depends on your expectations. Honestly, as odd as this sounds, you can make a case that he is NU’s MVP so far. He basically, doesn’t have a back up until Jones gets his sea legs. He is the only consistent inside presence and the NU offense looks way better when he is in the game. Young is exceeding expectation by a mile. If you want to worry, I can suggest about 5 other guys that need to step it up.

I expect he'll work on a fadeaway jumper. He already has a hook shot.

He also has excellent court vision. He's made some good passes that the average big couldn't make.

I’m hopeful he will be as effective in b1g play at hanging onto the ball in traffic, rebounding, and with put backs. He’s been pretty solid so far. But the different bugs might be a bugger challenge.

Ryan Young is also pretty good at getting a rebound and putting it back up and in. Before our 4 years with Pardon, the Cats were perpetually terrible at doing that.

He is not nearly as tall nor thick as Tom.
Much more nimble than Tom.
Offensive skills are greater than Tom.
Doesn't take up the same amount of space as Tom.
Got into NU, hence he is much smarter than Tom.
