It’s always unthinkable. Every time the US wins one, they think we’ve turned the corner. Haven’t won in 30 years on European soil. Shouldn’t have been unthinkable. This is the norm.
Europe has been kicking the American’s a$$ in the Ryder Cup for years. Yet so many of those Europeans never won majors. It’s not about necessarily about folding under pressure.
We aren't losing to "soil". We're losing to better players, terrible captaining, beginning with questionable captain's picks, and egregious decisions as to match assignments.
What do you mean 3 of the Top 4 golfers in the world are European. Rahm, McIlroy, and Hovland.

If I had to guess, I'm thinking Zack Johnson rolled the dice on being considered one of the most "brilliant and insightful" captains of all time. Now, he's in line to become the biggest buffoon to ever hold the position. Even if we come back to make it close, unless we miraculously come all the way back, it will be recorded that it was actually lost on Day One through maladroit leadership. Actually, it might have been lost the day he made his captain's selections.
One of the reasons I liked Keegan. He was playing good golf and just has an intensity about him. And Cam Young for that matter.
It has been 30 years since we’ve won in Europe. If you think playing over there doesn’t have a major impact on it, so be it. By the way, and I’m sure you know, we won in the US 2 years ago 19-9.

It's not too much to ask, given the right cast of characters. That's the rub, not the "soil". If that's wrong, we wouldn't beat them on either side of the "pond". Get it right, you've got a chance anyplace. Is this team even remotely comparable to the team and coaches that brought home the 19-9?
Yes it is comparable entering the tournament. Easy to sit here in hindsight and say it isn’t comparable after seeing the results. For years the Americans have been favorites (often heavy favorites) only to get blitzed by the Europeans in Europe. But I’m not excusing Johnson’s awful captaincy. He deserves some blame.
Can’t stand Cantlay and this makes me like him even less. But I’m sure Cantlay isn’t one of the boys anyway, so that doesn’t help.

Yeah, sounds like the rumors might be false. Still irritates me how slow Cantlay plays. But loved the way he closed it out today. Great job to flip that match coming in.
My nomination for biggest prick award would be Koepka during time frame mentioned. WTH is he even being considered for a spot on this team. Keegan definitely should have been ahead of him.
Brooks finished way ahead of Bradley in points and that’s without getting points on LIV. Koepka finished 2nd in the Masters and won the PGA Championship this year.
I like some of the European players such as V. H. and Rahm but have never liked Rory. He walks around like he owned the join. His chest out and nose in the air.
Yeah, that was odd. I just don’t think Koepka gives a ****. Rory tried to jump on being the savior of the PGA Tour and then it blew up in his face. Problem is, he hasn’t shut up about it and continues to double down. And worse, he’s commented on the LIV guys about personal life things which is just over the line.
I've always thought USA doesn't understand the concept of team golf, the Foursomes for example. Europe does, team selection and pairing the correct guys is proof. They dominate that section of the RC.
