He has had one heck of a career at Clinton. His run the other night was one of his best to date. He needs 929yrds to reach 2000yrds rushing on the year and be the first Clinton back to have 3 seasons of 2k yards rushing. He needs to average 154yrds/game over the next 6 games (assuming Clinton makes it to the state championship game). Even if he doesn't, he will go down as one of the best Clinton backs ever maybe the best stat wise.

On a side note, he has only had 113 carries on the year. I'm almost positive no other Clinton back has reached his numbers with only getting such low amount of carries each year. That is only because Clinton the last two years have been blowing people out and he hasn't been playing in many 2nd halfs. I think even coach Lewis was quoted as saying after the win against Wallace that "many of these kids have yet to play a whole game, we have had running clocks the whole 2nd half most games and been up a lot so the guys haven't played a full game much" paraphrasing some of course but that is the jist of it. Hoping to see Ryheem reach 2k again this year cause that means at least another Eastern title if not a state title. Go horses.

There were some issues with cramping on both teams last Friday, as I'm sure Wallace-Rose Hill was in the same category as Clinton this year, resting their top players during the second half. I'm pretty certain beginning with the Union game the starters will see more playing time during the playoffs. Another good thing out of this is that the younger players(including JV players moved up) have seen significant playing time, only adding to the depth of the team.

I have no idea about this young man other than hearing his name as an excellent running back. In Thomasville, when that happens (which is far too often), it's usually academics.

  1. I'm a Skinner fan no matter where he attends college. I can't believe N. C. State has let him slip away. Shame on you Dave Doeren and Des Kitchings!! You will regret it! I'm sure he'll be playing somewhere on Saturdays next season. He's a great young man and a special athlete. Go Ryheem! GO HORSES!!

I will say I've seen him attend more state games with his coaches than visiting anywhere else. Mostly because the coaches are state fans, not all but most. I'm not a state fan but I'd love to see him play on saturdays for anybody. I'd cheer for him even if he went to state. I support all Clinton athletes.

Well if a Shelby guy would take anyone outside of its own to play their team, they must be a good football player. LoL just messing around, SHS Lion. He is good, just like many guys you have. Best of luck in the playoffs. Who knows, maybe we will see u at the ship.

Is Skinner a spread type RB? That may have something do with it... but maybe the recent qualification will get doors opened to NC State.

Well he plays in the T or full house backfield. Has been in shotgun some, but rare. Doesn't mean he couldn't play in the spread. He has pretty good hands too. All he needs is a shot, someone will get a good one.

kid would be a good fit for wake forest. despite the fact that wake has cade carney who starts as a freshman, Skinner is a different type of back and could be a big part of that offense.

Would love to see him go to ECU. I think he would really get a chance to be the top guy there. Have not been able to establish a solid back there since 2013. Skinner's job for the taking.

Quick question for Dark Horse faithful. Will Ryheem age out this year? I heard he will be cutting it close toward the later part of the season. Hate to see the Horses make a run at States this year and then the young man becomes ineligible because of age. I'm not sure how that rule works but is something to keep an eye on

A student cannot participate in sports if he or she turns 19 ON or BEFORE August 31. So he is fine.

Skinner should have multiple offers in my opinion. He is a great all around running back. He has good size, speed, agility. I have always been impressed with the balance of Skinner when he is running the ball. You rarely see him just knocked over or tripped up, you have to tackle him to bring him down. The kid just looks like a running back when you put the ball in his hands.

Like I said previously, I'm a Skinner fan wherever he goes. I'm sure he will do well. I can't understand why he hasn't heard from Clemson, Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Louisville and the likes! What are they looking for? ECU, Wake, NCSU: any would be fine with me.

I'm also a Tyion fan, a Prentice fan, a Kramer fan, a Nelson fan...any Dark Horse that is being considered for the next level!! Also a Mikayla fan....she'll be signing with Duke to play college basketball next week!!

GO HORSES!!

Hopefully if Skinner gets passed on by the FBS schools he can pull a Jerome Simpson and make all the coaches that passed on him eat crow as he tore up FCS and got drafted in the NFL 2nd round.

If he doesn't get a offer which would be absolutely mind blowing I am almost 100% certain that a handful of D1 schools would want him as a preferred walk on. Regardless of where he goes, sounds like he is a kid with the work ethic to succeed whatever the situation may be.

Clinton has had many NFL running backs so one word from any of them gets him in somewhere, but getting him to a point of qualifying is/was/maybe the reason. All I have heard about him is good. So if he is qualified trust me there are some d1 programs with scollys still out there. A lot of kids benefit from going to smaller schools especially academically. There was a unrecruited back out of Dunn who only had one offer from NCA&T he is now one of the top rushers in FCS history and considered on of the top 15 running backs in the nation. So you can still make it at smaller schools.

Skinner is good, but is he Florida St good or even Alabama good like the above poster said?,I understand being a fan of his and thinking he's good enough to play anywhere in college football, but to be even looked at like a program like Alabama I would think you would have to have some national recognition,I remember the kid from kannapolis Brown nick Maddox went to Florida st back in the early 90's and barely got onto the field, and that kid was something special right there.

If he ends up going to a smaller school it would not be all that bad.....Nick Cooper who may be the best RB Clinton has had ended up going to WSSU and had a great career there MVP of the 2011 CIAA championship game had numerous first team selections and is 3rd on the Schools all time rushing list

Yes I agree Ryheem in my eyes is not major D1 material. A smaller D1 such as A&T or a school such as WSSU would be a nice fit for the kid IMO

Yes he could play at Alabama,Florida State,or any other D1 school. When Mark Ingram played at Alabama and won the Heisman he only ran a 4.6 forty. This kid is faster and will get bigger, stronger, and faster in college. When Gurley played at Tarboro he was only 6'1" or 6'2" 195lbs but look what happen when he got Georgia. The kid from Raleigh that played with Gurley at Georgia in the back field wasn't as big as Skinner is now coming out of high school. Look at the kid heart and not his size. Could be another Tarik Cohen that's at A&T now from Bunn.

Contact Charleston Southern or UNCCharlotte whom program is going to really be big time in the future by playing major D1 schools on a regular basic.

We also have to think now. Taking nothing away from Skinner but it was not until his senior year that he was academically cleared. Please correct me if I'm wrong but in student athlete student comes first. Yes he prolly could play anywhere in the country but being a college athlete in a 2 way street. When football comes to an end for him I want him to have his options for bigger and better things in life
