Honestly, I would be perfectly fine with that at this point. In practice it is impossible to simulate late game decisions and pressures the QB faces, but I have seen enough of it in real life now to say Tommy doesn't handle it well at all. I have to at least wonder how Ryker would have fared yesterday.

TA had one bad game....some of that was how it was called by Lamedork.....but I don't see Ryker solving the problem unless we want absolutely NO run game at all.

What do you call yesterday? That's as close to no run game as you will get in football. Even as a fan of Tommy, I feel he had 2 other bad halves making it a total of 2 bad games this season. That's 50% which is not good for an experienced junior QB.

Putting RF in would make our situation much worse.

You haven't been following his career if you think it's only been one bad game. I'm also not sure if Ryker is the answer either and suspect there would still be struggles, just different ones so would we really gain anything? IDK. Maybe he needs to play Ryker for the last 2 minutes of each half. Joking, I know that isn't reality. I think we have to accept our QB situation is going to be what it is, until somebody better walks onto campus.

You don't put a bandade on severe cut.If anyone wants Barny Fife they want to see the season get worse than it already is.

From losing close games to getting our butts handed to us.

Ok, there, Alex "scarlet" Lewis what's your beef with Fyfe? Is it because he's a hardworking home state kid that didn't abandon the team when he was not given the starting job? Show a little respect to a student athlete who is a model of what's right about college FB.

I sense the OP has tongue firmly planted in cheek. For anyone not paying attention, Tommy Armstrong has been a bright spot this season. We're not a good football team, I feel like that's pretty evident by now. However, yesterday was about coaching and game management.

Come on guys, Fyfe would have **** his pants yesterday. Bush and Darlington maybe but doubtful. TA is the best choice we have, maybe the only choice. Let's not forget his receivers weren't helping him out yesterday. Lots of drop balls. If a couple of those would have been caught, we'd likely have won. TA is learning and having to make split second decision that go against the way he use to play. TA will be fine and a beast next year. No one wants to win more than TA. Give him this year to become more of a pro-style QB and he will be fine next year.

The way I see it, always support our players but **** on the coaches as needed. Let's be real, pretty much any other hire and we'd be 5-0 or at least 4-1. Better coaching would have won all 3 of our L's. It's not all on the coaches, no. But better coaching wins every single one of our games.

Agree that coaches have cost us the losses-and that is what is surprising/disappointing to me, given the experience that Riley has

Armstrong is the best player on this offense. Pulling him would not be bright. Somebody wants to suggest putting Fyfe in at offensive tackle, I'll listen.

The last thing we need to do is try another quarterback when the one we have is pretty good. It's like trying to fix your offensive line by trying a different running back because your starter is getting stuffed in the backfield.

I really agree on your statement about the receivers. Reilly and Westercamp especially. Westy dropped one inside the 5 that would have resulted in 7 more points for sure..

There is a reason we got what we got for a coach. Are depth chart is full of so many holes. Why would a name coach want to come here. But we could always hire a coordinator with no head coaching experience and learn on the job

Fyfe should get a couple series in a row, but he's so rusty he probably won't help. Tommy's big problem is his indecision - ala Taylor Martinez. His favorite throw is the 50 yard bomb, with a completion percentage of about 5%. He is not good on touch passes (screens, etc.) and his best plays come on busts. But look at the times he throws into triple coverage, completely overlooking an open man.

I'm not sure how you can claim that. I'll admit better coaching would have beat Illinois, there's no excuse for that loss, but hte other two...with the lack of talent on this team, I"m not sure Urban Meyer or Nick Saban would be 4-1 or 5-0 with this team.

The Illinois game was tough...but other than that I've been fine, even happy with TA's play and growth. It seems that we've finally found a running back threat in Ozigbo (I hope anyway) it may open up the play book even more. TA will be fine. I haven't seen enough of Fyfe to know if he would be any better, but I'm not ready to make a switch yet.
