Holy ****, I was in classes with him. He was a good guy and had tons of friends at Duke. He was tight with Reggie Love and Duhon. Shane must be devastated.

As they say, it only takes once. What sad news and such a tragedy. My heartfelt wishes and prayers for the Battier family.

Tragic. I work with many addicts and heroin has become a near epidemic drug of choice. It's become quite popular among all classes.

Prayers for the Battier family.

So sorry to read this. Hardcore drugs suck, but I have a personal dislike of heroin, having lost a friend to it as well.

Prayers for Shane and family....

As someone with five years in recovery from being an oxycontin addict this hits a certain nerve. Heroin chooses nor discriminates who will use it, and yes its approaching epidemic status here in ky. My prayers are with the Battier family and anyone else effected by this news...

Why in God's name would such an accomplished person try Heroin for the first time at THIS stage in his life? Maybe prior addiction to prescribed meds like Kentucky pointed to? My gosh that's horrible. Terrible terrible mistake. Smh
