So imagine a Coke machine that has various drugs in place of the sodas. You put your cash or credit card into the machine, push the button for your drug of choice, and place your arm into an opening in the machine. You then get your arm prepped and the drug injected into your bloodstream. Quick and safer than sharing needles and self medicating. Of course they would never allow anything like that to be legal here (not saying I would want it to be legal). Now maybe a machine that sells joints like the old cigarette machines is very possible.

I don't mind needle exchanges. A ton of these folks are on Medicaid anyway, if they clean up I do not want the state to be on the hook for their HIV or Hepatitis they contracted from sharing needles as well, but giving the drugs away seems ridiculous.

How do you limit users to just what is offered in the machine? Users would just use what is in the machine and then buy whatever else they needed from a dealer. Reading about Safe Injection Sites in Canada they haven't scaled and OD deaths have continued to climb. The neighborhood where the main site is located was bad but now it has turned into a disaster. The percentage of their customers they get into treatment is very low.

Canada is thinking about giving heroin away because of fentanyl and other ingredients that increase the chance of over dosing. Today, Canada allows their customers to come in off the street after the customer buys their heroin from a dealer right out side the site.
