Duece Logan is the best player in Class 4 and it’s not even close. Spartans will get #11 this fall…
I remember seeing Chauncey at practice 4 years ago. I asked Coach Fedison who is that #11? He said everyone just calls him Deuce. He's a Fr and he's the best natural corner I've seen. Since that first practice he's impressed me both on and off the field. He's a Swiss Army knife, whatever you need him to do, he's got it covered. When I saw his offer to JMU I felt it was the perfect fit for him. The exciting thing for Salem fans is he has a younger brother in 8th grade I believe. Because of COVID last year I really didn't get to see him play yet.
Should have Cam Leftwich back... he got a fair amount of carries to complement Z Wood last season, but would defer to mike salem or someone that knows with more certainty.
Jamien Lingenfelter (Jr) looks to be the starting RB. He's cat quick.
Jayveon Jones (So) and Peyton Lewis (So) should get a number of carries too.
Cam Leftwich will get a lot of carries from the FB position.
This is what I am expecting as well. Lingenfelter is very small but is an amazing athlete... very quick and fast. Peyton Lewis was one of the two freshman that I have mentioned a few times from last year that is extremely talented. He had to miss track this season but was one of the fastest 8th graders in the entire country a few years ago and is already up to around 6'1 185. Jones also has a good size and speed combination, especially for his age and will certainly contribute.
I would also expect to see Leftwich at tailback some with a Collins and a few different guys getting reps at fullback.
