MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Redshirt freshman wide receiver Sam James has been named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week following his performance against Texas Tech on Saturday.
This is the second time James has been awarded the honor this season.
James finished the contest with 14 receptions for 223 yards, averaging 15.9 yards per catch. His 14 receptions are tied for No. 2 in single-game program history, while the 223 yards receiving is good for No.4 in single-game program history.
West Virginia returns to action on Saturday at Kansas State. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff, and will be televised on ESPN.
