Hmm. But is there room for another perimeter guy. We will already most likely return Oweh, Chandler, Perry & Noah. Add in Lewis and Johnson. And I would strongly prefer 1-2 transfer portal guys. That puts us at 7-8 guards already.

More suited for the 3 position. A high flyer with shooting range and elite defense. Pope will offer I'm betting.

If Oweh is here next year I'd be really surprised. Really. And seeing how Chandler has essentially lost two years already, if he has a good season, I wouldn't expect him back either.

Chandler is good, but I would be shocked if he went pro.

He was really quick to follow Pope. Unless he doesn’t see himself getting minutes next year, he will be back.

He really needs to work on getting shots in rhythm/flow of the offense. He is still thinking about everything. Once it starts becoming instinctual, he is going to take off.

Maybe a minute crunch, but there isn’t the same scholarship restrictions next year

Will be fun to watch this recruiting here. If he would accept a possible scholly would it stop someone like Wilson, I know not the same position but just wondering.

Might curtail Ament, who is in long shot anyway in my opinion
One other question: Is Pope hard line on 4 total freshman for next year or will he take that extra guy? If we get back all non seniors then we would still be able to take 3 or 4 in portal I think.

I’ll be the contrarian here. Not sure about this kid. Not only are OTE stats hard to gauge as it’s a bad product with high counting stats, but the kid is multiple years older than most of his opponents making it even less useful as a scouting arena.

Also if I’m him, what role are you selling me on? Already have good wings, probably look for a role transfer player depending on Collin’s growth. The starting 4 spot we’re spending heavily on with Caleb/Chris/transfer.

Seems like a due diligence visit for both sides and I appreciate how this staff works.

Chandler is too raw to leave yet iMO. He’s gonna need at least 2 years to get back to where he should be.
I'm just not real sure about that. I think he'll end up having a solid year, and you never know with these guys. We, as fans, see it way differently, than players. And again, we're talking about a guy that's already 'lost' two years.

From what I’ve seen so far I don’t think he’s quite polished enough to go pro, but that could change. He has the physical tools to for sure.

Where is Chandler going. No NBA
I'm only saying, because he might feel like he's two years behind, he might be in more of a hurry to make money than some think. IMO, if he has a great year, don't be surprised if he isn't the lock to return that many people may think. Just a theory, but I don't think it's an outlandish thought.

No offense, but people who are worried about getting to the NBA as soon as possible, don’t give up basketball to go on a 2 year mission.

We have 7-8 guards/wings this year. What's the difference?

Calderon will assume the minimal role next year Noah outperforms him in the rotation.

Let's not forget that teams get 15 scholarships starting next year. We can take 5 and still have room for portal guys. I think Calderon would be an excellent development guy.

Jacob Polacheck picked him to go to UK today by the way!

Kid looks like a player, this must mean the staff doesn’t think we’re getting Ament.

Chandler isn't going pro. He's the least skilled guard on this team. His ball handling is nowhere near what it needs to be . This is laughable to even talk about

I wouldn't say it's likely that we return Oweh. I think if he maintains a solid season he will go to the nba. He looks the part.

Is a possible 5th freshman addition for 2025, and if you haven't watched his hilite vids yet, you should. Brazilian born 6'7 guard/forward who will visit UK this coming weekend.

Powerful athlete, runs the floor well and seems to have a shot. Not sure UK currently has anyone like him on the roster or as a commitment. Kansas apparently leads.

You can’t prognosticate next seasons roster. Half these guys will transfer
