Lol so you think its a hig no to have both a CC and a legal medical mj card but ok to have a CC and consume alcohol. Which to me both ok as long as your not drunk or really high. For those that wonder how many domestic abuse or fights have you seen when they consume MJ?
I didn't say that. I wouldn't have an issue with Med MJ and CC cards being issued to people. But the current law doesnt allow that. Not liking a law doesn't mean you don't need follow it.

Sasso had an unregistered vehicle, drugs in said vehicle, and multiple weapons he didn't have a permit to carry. All at once.

So a trip to the DMV to register his car probably avoids all of this. A trip to the Sheriff's Office would get his CC permit. Two relatively easy tasks. Instead, he will likely lose his job at Lehigh and possibly end up with a felony charge.

He was carjacked shot and nearly died. Ohio is a Constitutional Carry state meaning no permit is necessary. If a guy had cause to have a gun…it’s this guy. He just moved to Pa…didn’t even have time to register his car. As for the weed…he has permanent injuries and no doubt is in constant pain. It’s 2025…enough with the weed laws. Should be legal everywhere.
FREE SAMMY. Hope he gets a great lawyer. This is BS.
Yeah, the most distressing thing about this to me (and my libertarian sensibilities) is driving while vaping. That's the only thing here that is a danger to anyone else. I understand his desire to protect himself after being shot, and I really don't care if you want to use MJ or anything else you want to put in your body on your own time, but only as long as you're not on the road.

I don’t think it said he was vaping at the time, or even impaired, just that he had THC cartridges in the car.

However, I own many pistols, and in my life I’ve never felt the need to put a bunch in a duffle bag and drive them around.

Any yous guys ever visit the mess board called Lehigh Valley Sports? Here's their thread on Sasso:

My human guess at an AI summary of that 5-page thread:
- similar to many threads discussing different ranges of bad behavior
- begins with news of Sasso hiring, which is highly celebrated
- moves quickly into discussion of the arrest
- includes some apologist posts on the weed and car registration charges
- includes some indignant posts on the weed charges
- with the gun charge noting one piece in the door & 3 in a bag for a total of 4 guns, hardly any apologist posts for the guns
- includes plenty of guesses and/or takery that his future as a coach at Lehigh Uni seems unlikely, but not confirmed

The article said the cops smelled a strong odor of MJ coming from the car. Those cartridges don't smell if they're not being used. Yeah I don't have really any issues with using MJ, or owning guns(but it is against PA laws to do both), or even forgetting to register your car. But to grab 4 handguns, hop in your unregistered car, and go on a burn cruise around town...really dumb and dangerous move.

haha, I was gonna leave this alone, but you've inspired me...I'm guessing this was a lost in translation thing between the po po and the journalist, but:
- a 'vape cartridge' almost always = thc oil
- there exist kinda modern 'dry vape' 'pens' that heat up thc flower (buds, 'leafy green substances')
- but has anyone ever seen a vape cartridge that had leafy flower in it?

Most cops could be asleep in their bed, 40 miles from the scene and they would swear there was a heavy odor of MJ.

Swap meet for long guns not pistols.
They need to be transferred by someone with an ffl
Unless they’d have someone doing that there.

Habitual drunkards and addicted or unlawful users of marijuana are prevented from getting a License To Carry (LTC) in PA. If medical marijuana is not unlawful in PA, then I would not assume someone with a medical card would be prevented from obtaining an LTC. Check the application yourself, Item 26F. However, if a medical card prohibits you from possessing a firearm under the statutes of the US, application Item 26J, then you would be prevented from getting a LOC. I am not sure if that is the case.

Application for a Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms

So, I looked it up after posting the above. Yes, under federal law, individuals who use marijuana, including those with a medical marijuana card, are prohibited from possessing firearms. This is because marijuana is classified as a Schedule I controlled substance, making its use illegal federally, regardless of state laws.

He has 2 feet too.
I had a sad police call that your comment reminded me of. A man had committed suicide with a rifle out by a walking trail. As I was surveying the scene I noticed he only had one shoe on, with the other shoe and sock close to him. It took me a moment to realize the reason his shoe and sock were off was because he used his toes to pull the trigger since he couldn't reach the trigger with his hand : (

Just curious. Did you get involved with the investigation when the guy committed suicide in the shooting range at Dunn’s on Morena Blvd?

Don’t know if you remember that incident but he was a friend. I had no idea he was dealing with serious problems and was shocked when I heard about what happened.
I am sorry to hear that. Suicide calls were one of the hardest, especially when friends and/or family were present.

His car registration expired in April, two months before he was hired at Lehigh. Moving had nothing to do with it. Much like Aaron Brooks, this is at best, pure dumass stupidity.
Brooks was very sick and it seems no matter what meds you take for cold etc etc is illegal which makes no sense!

Even as an Ohio State guy it’s hard to not acknowledge a particular pattern here. Now I’m saying that, and regarding the previous rumor to why and where Sammy was when he got shot… one thing makes no sense about it.

The police report and investigation would have obviously listed ANY possible motives and circumstances involved in the shooting as an active investigation headed into the courts… including the where and why of Sasso himself.

So knowing this, how or why would a judge, a prosecution team and local news contingents all make, allow, and report a platform for Sasso to speak at court for almost 10-15 minutes if there was even a likelihood he was involved with anything nefarious on his end leading to him getting shot?

That part just makes no sense to me. The police more so than anyone would know his location and circumstances which led up to the shooting and how it all fit. And it’s one thing to prove it, I get that, but again that wouldn’t impede them for not allowing Sasso to speak and make it almost a national story about him being a complete victim in all this.

He carrying firearms after almost losing his life is understandable. A THC vape pen is almost comical being illegal considering where marijuana laws have come in the past 10 years. But yet there is still that pattern that exists that can’t just be wiped under the rug.

Yes, I think for the most part everyone over here is being careful with that topic, Doesn't mean some of us aren't thinking that the first rumors might not have a bit of truth to them.

First I admit zero knowledge on guns, permits, in PA. However, distinctly recall stopped at red light at intersection of Corner Room recently and very large individual pulls up on bike, with clearly visible pistol on his hip. What type of permit is required? Thanks
