Wonder what that means for Gawth?? Would Mara come off bench? I know nothing about him other than he’s 7’4
I think they could take both, Gwath can play the 4 if needed. If they add the 3 of Alavaro, Mara and Gwath the frontcourt would be more than set with a returning Garrison, and Moreno in tow. All that would be needed is a lead guard, given no exodus of other players from the current roster.

Garrison will leave if all 3 come here...

I would rather have a 3 star HS recruit to be the 5th development frontcourt guy

The guy that runs this Youtube channel must have breakdowns of every player in America saved, because within a minute of them hitting the portal, he's got the video.

"Mara emerged this year as an at-time dominate force for the Bruins, showing game-changing rim protection on the defensive end of the floor as well as nifty passing sense and nice scoring touch around the hoop on the other end. A foot injury and a serious respriatory infection caused him some setbacks in his development. " He will be a junior this season.

But the stats for every player is off some. It's like he pulled the stats from mid-late Feb.
I think he isn't including NCAA tournament games, added up Mara's points and divided by 31 instead of 33 and got 6.25 which rounds to 6.3

I sure didn't see any of this when I watched UCLA, which wasn't too much

again, hope you are correct

Mara is horrible, big, slow, awkard....nothing at all that fits Pope's style
in 2020-2021 at BYU Pope started former Purdue big man Matt Haarms who was a 7-3 big slow awkward guys. That was in the WCC and BYU went 20-7 finishing second while Haarms averaged 10.3/5/1.1 . So while it may not be optimal or what we did this year, I think Pope has played with that style of big before.

I mean, the dude accurately nailed our seed line, opponents, region and 1 seed for 2 years in a row before the bracket got revealed.

Also accurately gave lots of other good info.

Idk, I agree, there are lots of bozos out there, but I thought this guy seemed pretty plugged in.

DO we just have retarded fans or what? Why would ANYONE bully somebody giving accurate info who is obviously tied to the program.

The “new account” sam is fake. Don’t believe anything unless he’s back on the old account.

I think a lot of people were talking crap after he kind of celebrated being right about Kriisa. We all knew Kriisa was going to transfer.

Sam’s acting like he’s up in his feelings. I question if someone around the program saw the Tweets or figured out who he was and asked him to shut it down. And this was the cover.
Was wondering that too, if he was giving out a little TOO much info and was asked to shut it down by UK. If not, he was obviously tied to NIL and some of these NIL deals, so probably not somebody you want to piss off.

just a little bit of difference in competition, don't you think?

Folgueiras actually shoots 3's, he made 4 more than Bailey even attempted.
AF: 45-109
RB: 17-41
Take away Bailey's best 3pt game (4-4), and he drops to a 35% 3pt shooter (13-37). Those are only marginally better than Garrison #'s (12-40).

Assists are quite good for both 3.9 & 3.2.
Rebounds though are not close 6.1 (Bailey) to 9.1 (Folgueiras), who gets 50% more rebounds.
What ? I thought you was a STATISTICIAN ? Would that not require being good with math ? maybe I am wrong, but if a guy averages 9.1 rebounds per game, 50% less would be half right ? 4.55 rebounds would be 50% less than 9.1. Guess it depends on which players number you start with. If you start with.

Mara is exactly what this team was missing this past year. He had 8 games with 3 or more blocks this past season. Not sure what the deal was with his inconsistent play time though, he produced when he was on the court
Mara can apparently pass like a point guard too. Williams like in that regard. Article i just read said Cronin blamed his lack of play early on conditioning, ilnesses, etc. some BS. article kinda pointed the finger at Cronin for not playing him more because he was effective when he played and that they tried playing some 6-9 dude out of position at center....ah, hell... here's the article.

In a massive setback for UCLA, 7-3 center Aday Mara will not return next season

I really like the way Alvaro plays on his highlights. Three things stand out to me. He takes the ball to the basket and score with or without moves like Carr did. He has a great stroke from the three point line. And he can pass the ball well. A true four that would be an enormous get for us. Tremendously talented and has some fire in him also.

He has better rebounding ability than Carr and has more stable 3pt shooting

I forgot all about that, we were in on him as well. Think he picked BYU over Kentucky. Life comes full-circle sometimes.

Mara reminds me of the Hanglagdon kid from Florida. Not super skilled but you can’t teach 7’4”!

I mean he saw a slight uptick in volume and downturn in efficiency from his time in the Big10, but not anything crazy. It was more an example that Pope has gone after those types for his system.
