PSS it was a bait thread. You know it, I know it. If this continues, you will join my ignore list. After blocking several posters the past 2 weeks its made the board much more enjoyable. The sad part? Someone emailed me the other day saying the ignored posters talk about me continuously and its eating away at them me not responding. I won't lie, I giggled. PSS I hope you choose to continue to post and be safe. God bless

My goodness...funny, I can see you giggling...

Also, don't invoke God into your diabolical charade...it might piss him off.

Perhaps you should talk with Josh if you are so concerned with the banning of certain posters. I don't now nor have I ever had the power or privileges to keep someone from posting. What's funny is your " buddies" in your mind should be allowed to post personal info, name call, cuss and bait and its okay but you feel barking and I should be banned for ??? Disagreeing ? Lol. K2c you rarely contribute to the board and spend most of your time on here obsessing over us. You claim to use the ignore feature but talk about us daily. It's an embarrassment, act your age. To save us both some trouble you are being added to my ignore list. I hope for the sake of the board you turn your mind to bedlam and not spend day and night obsessing over posters on message boards. Good luck and God bless

Yankee, they really are never going to get it. Had you not even responded to this thread, they would still have been going on and on about you.

When I saw the thread title I knew this was going to be a disaster. Sanchez just seems to bring it! ;)

Mr. Moses, just ignore him. His game has been well defined over the past few years. Troll post, get response, start replying about acting like an adult, drunk posting, he has the right to express his opinion, blah blah blah. Wash, rinse, repeat. I personally just don't read it. No sense in playing his game. If everyone stopped playing, he'd probably just move on.
The clock is right...been a peaceful couple of months for me :)

I haven't even noticed how to ignore in new format? I'm ready I don't want to read anymore of his negativity any more. I'm trying to savor this great season they're not helping.
The thing is Olahoma pride, I'm proud of all the Sooner players. I might say Trevor played bad but I'm proud we have him as a Sooner.
He's a wannabe, but I have no idea what he wants to be except disruptive.
So how do you do ignore now?

I'm just curious where all the negativity was in Yankees first post in this thread?? He said Sanchez makes good plays and bad plays. That does in fact sum him up pretty well. So where is the negativity and intent to disrupt this thread at in those comments??

I used the ignore feature once just to see how things appeared. I found it highly annoying. So within five minutes, I had things back to where they were. Ignore is a self-control issue, not a magic button. Take Orlando Brown for example. He has neither. o_O

If everyone would just ignore these two they would have no one to post to. And they would ride on off out of here. Hes never happy, unless he pisses Sooner fans off. They call each other. And laugh on the phone, to one another how they have stired it up on the Scoop. And how they have killed this board. Got former Sooner players banned and good sooners posters removed. Just ignore them.
Mike you are so hypocritical.

13 career interceptions now.
1 more to tie Derrick Strait. Was Derrick any good? I'm blanking. Derrick had 14 in 4 seasons
1 more to tie Randy Hughes who currently sits as the only OU player to have more INTs in only 3 seasons (14).
5 more to tie Royal (18), but I don't know if Zack is coming back for another year.

Strait won the Thorpe award I believe. Sanchez hasn't accomplished that yet so I agree at this point Sanchez isn't as good as Strait. I believe it's closer than you're giving Sanchez credit for though. Strait didn't play against the spread offenses that dominate the Big 12 now. It's difficult to make a direct comparison of the two players IMHO.

Sanchez is more of a risk taker and therefore gets beat fairly often. Strait was also a much better tackler and just seems like more of a complete package. Sanchez is a good player and I'm not trying to take that away from him. I just happen to think there are a number of corners recently that are just as good.

In my opinion Sanchez is one the best corners we've had since Strait. Every defensive back gets beat, even Deon Sanders got beat. The reason I think Sanchez is one of the best is his ball skills. He does a great job of making plays on the ball, and has great hands. I for one am very glad that Sanchez is a Sooner.

He does have great ball skills I agree. However he isn't very physical and at times has tackling issues. I personally hope he comes back another year and tries to improve his stock

I absolutely agree with this point. It's sort of an apples to oranges comparison when comparing Strait to Sanchez. Strait I do think was the best "lock down" corner that Bob Stoops has ever had. But Tic-Toc is right, Strait didn't have to face these dominating offenses in college football these days. So hard to tell if Strait would enjoy the same level of domination nowadays that he did all those years ago.

I agree he has a lot of improving to do. I believe the NFL is going to look at him continuing to fall for the double move and have questions. As you said, he is not that great of a tackler. Maybe that is because he looks to be a bit undersized.

Hmm..man that's pretty tough. I think I would have to lean towards Colvin since I think he was a better tackler. Colvin is a starting CB for Jacksonville this year. Hard to imagine Sanchez being an NFL starter with his issues in tackling.

Colvin was better, because he was better on an island. Sanchez has the better hands though. In my opinion you can't go wrong with either one of these guy's.

And Colvin wasn't even drafted until the 4th round. I'm gonna guess Sanchez will go later than that and will probably have to really push it to make a team. As Yankee said, Sanchez could really benefit from another year.

Good corners last a long time in the nfl, so the year to year turnover at the position needs to be weighed heavily when comparing draft position at CB.

It'd be more fair to compare the draft number by position, not overall.

Compared to a linebacker, no. But he tackles as good as any good corner with a healing shoulder. Strait took chances to. Go back and look at the the video when A and M beat OUr undefeated team down there with their stud freshman qb subbing in for the first time. McNeil made OUr 8and0 look pretty unspectacular. And then the stripes screwed up OUr last possession.

That was a pretty good Sooner defense, but a true inexperiencd freshman put up 28, back in the day before spread offenses had broken out all over.

If you have issues with any particular poster, it's on you as a poster to either properly handle it to the degree that it does not disrupt the thread or you need to use the ignore feature. As an example, just the other night I had an issue w/ my wife. I ask her to sign up on this board so I could ignore her.

It didn't work. She told me to sign up on Pinterest so she could ignore me.

You referenced Sanchez having an injured shoulder earlier in the year. Where are you getting this info? I asked you the last time you mentioned it where you are hearing that from and you never answered. So again..where are you hearing he has an injured shoulder?? No doubt he had a dinged up shoulder last season, but I haven't heard a word about it carrying over to this year. All I've heard is the ankle injury he is battling.

Strait also actually had to protect against the run, so there was a lot more physicality needed while also having to have the skill set to recognize, turn and run. Sanchez is too much of a guesser for my taste, but it nearly always takes some risk to get big rewards. You can use any number of cliches, "live by the sword, die by the sword." I think he is a very good player, but I wouldn't elevate him to the level of the Sooner greats at corner. You could point to interceptions and such, but then we're right back to the difference between throwing 60 times a game to 30. Sanchez has serious recognition issues when play action is involved, but he is great at reading the ball in the air and has great athleticism to make up for some errors. It's fun but also sometimes heart stopping to watch.

I think you have to be cognizant of "printing" when criticizing Sanchez's tackling. He struggled a bit last year when he was playing with basically one shoulder, but I think he's been pretty darn good this year. He made a great one on one tackle in the open field this week.
