Interesting stats many very even at this point except to national championships and AA. I think more than anything what makes Iowa fans so salty towards Cael and PSU is that they never thought Gables records would be broken let alone this quickly.

Gable coached for 21 years and won 15 national titles and 21 conference titles. Cael might be able to catch Gable in overall national titles eventually, but it will take him longer than it took Gable.

Yup... If Cael wants to coach that long he would most likely break Gables national titles. I was thinking more that since Cael has been at PSU for 13 years and 9 championships he would break Gables 15 national titles in 21 years. Probably apples and oranges but just comparing each of their tenures at Iowa and PSU.

Unlike his redshirt season, Cael's years coaching at Iowa State do count.

In that case, you probably want to count the two years that Tom was at Virginia Tech. 17 - 20 there........

Been fun watching them go head to head........ Great coaches, love the energy they bring.

Iowa is often good at many sports....not great. Wrestling was THEIR sport to be king....especially starting with Gable....Cael and PSU have stolen their crown .
