He's right, and wrong in his assessment. It's basically what I've been saying. The highest ranked conference champs = 5 teams.

That leaves 11 at large bids, except it really only leaves 10 at large bids, because Noodle Lame has to steal a spot from a real team actually worthy of a playoff spot. But whatever, he's right. 16 is the right number if you're dead set on these conference champ auto-bids. (more or less)

But they'll chase the cash regardless of the effect on the sport. It doesn't matter what we think.

16 teams - NO automatic bids - NO byes - NO games on campus - ALL teams picked and seeded digitally using predetermined strength criteria equally applied to everyone. It could be done and it would be above reproach.

Totally agree with you - 100% using a tweaked version of the BCS system. (more or less)

The problem with that system is that it takes humans dirty, corrupted influence and hands out of it.... and we can't have that. Heaven forbid.
