I'm sorry but I just don't know why anyone would believe Coach Satterfield should be calling offensive plays. He needs to hire a OC because it's clear to me he is inconsistent at best.

And every time it looks like Louisville had offensive momentum he gives it up with his plays. Either by getting predictable or picking the wrong time to try a big play. He ruined the possession to start the 2nd half by trying to get Wertz the ball on consecutive plays. He hasn't played all season and he showed it by making two mistakes trying to run.

Now BC is driving, trying to get within a touchdown in a game the Cards should be up by 28.

This stuff just keeps happening.

Some of his trick plays have worked this year but even the D list announcer of the game called him out for the trick play when everything conventional was already working first drive of 2nd half. Cards were headed to chip shot FG for a 17 pt lead or a TD for a 3 TD lead and the game would have gotten out of hand more than likely.

Yeah, it's just baffling maybe he will grow into a better coach. Who knows.

Well as a head coach I don't have a lot to complain about. It's his play calling as the OC that I have a lot to complain about. Most head coaches don't call the plays unless they're considered some kind of offensive savant.

I think it's very clear that at Louisville he's not that.

The offensive performance was hurt by 4 turnovers not play calling. This was the 1st game with this many. Good defenses force turnovers. Hall is explosive and quick he really has been good the last 2 weeks then he fumbled. He can’t put the ball on the ground. Cooley was terrific put the ball on the ground. One of Malik’s interception was on him wrong read his check down was wide open.

I think that was most YPP BC has given up all year. They are right there just can’t put it all together.

Hall has a habit of putting the ball on the ground. I suspect it has a lot to do with him running straight up.

The TOs were disappointing, but it was on both sides and the rain contributed to some of the slippery conditions. We would have had one more sack on the BC QB had our DE another slipped into the end zone after he beat the OT a on the corner.

I will say this about play calling, as SS’s decision in the second half to throw a deep route on first down was the same mistake that I think contributed to our loss to UVA. In both instances we had a lead late in the contest and we’re moving inside the opponent’s end of the field, and instead of a manageable 2nd down, the incomplete pass means 2nd and long, reducing the chances of extending the offensive series. I know we hit one of these long passes every once in a while, but the percentages are not good. Offensive possession was critical in both occasions and instead we end up with a meaningless FG against the Cavs, and a missed FG against BC.

Good points....however, it was a sign of aggressive play calling with a killer instinct that many on this board have wanted....I like it and it sends the defense the message you better be ready for this cause we are coming for you.

Spreads the field and is a sign that CSS has confidence in his OL, and WRs that Malik can deliver when given time.

As far as TO's go....BC hits hard and has a tough defense to run on and the Cards put a season high on them. This game was won in the trenches and winning by 2 TD's indicates that the Cards did a lot of other things right to win this game.

CSS said he was proud of them after the game and I was too. Savor the victory and think of it as a turning point in the season. Five + 1 more to go.

Agree w a lot of this but still hated the "trick play" call to Wertz when everything conventional was working. Game was about to get out of hand in a good way. It cost the Cards points, and that kept BC's heads in the game.

As fans we over analyze everything. The reality this is a average team that is very young. People fail to look at the opponents objectively. All people say is the ACC sucks therefore any loss means Louisville sucks.

The truth is they aren’t losing to bad teams.
Mississippi happens to be pretty damn good.
Virginia has 2 losses with a terrific offense
Wake is undefeated.
UCF with their starting QB was pretty good especially on offense.

They were only outmatched against Ole Miss. They just didn’t make enough plays to beat Wake and Virginia. The results really aren’t surprising because talent wise their roster isn’t that much better than those teams. What is different is those teams are extremely experienced on the line and at QB.
