As of 5:30 p.m. Friday, the weather forecast for Mountaineer Field and Saturday’s Kansas game at noon:

35% chance of scattered thundershowers at 10 and 11 a.m., but only 15% chance of any precipitation and 78 degrees at kickoff time and throughout the game (82 degrees by the 4th quarter).

So, if the thunderstorms hit earlier than expected, we’re OK and dry, except for our Mountaineer Field seats needing a bit of mopup.

If the thunderstorms are delayed and hit at kickoff we could have another Youngstown game and be wet for 60 playing minutes or, heaven forbid, another 1.5-hour delay during the game the way WVU did against Tennessee.

Obviously I will check again before we leave Ohio at 8:30 a.m., and weather forecasts change almost hourly. But keep the raingear handy, just in case.

And, as usual, I’ll be there come rain, sunshine or thunderstorms, unless I’m dead.
