Probably true since the Shula playbook doesn't really give Sellers the run option.I guess Beamer called that play where the OL lets two or three defenders get through to Sellers so he can run the ball.

He should be embarrassed to cash his paycheck. The O line coach has some explaining to do
I was!Is he really worried that VT is going to score two tds in two minutes?
How dumb would Beamer have looked if Sellers had gotten hurt on that totally unnecessary run on 4th and 5 with 2 minutes to play up by 13?

Well, he fumbled... and was lucky it was recovered by our OL. Maybe that's what they worked on in the offseason... instead of blocking.Sellers did a great job today not forcing the ball and giving up the interception or fumble. That is improvement over last year. He played impeccably given the O line he had to play behind.
Got to. Honestly I hate all these opening games away from home against teams with a pulse. It's like asking for a loss. When we lost that North Carolina game two years ago, it set the stage for a dismal year.Ugly at times but will take win above all.
I was okay with it. Let's close out the game and take a knee. Defense had been on the field all day. The offense needed to put the game away. How dumb would Beamer have looked if Sellers had gotten hurt on that totally unnecessary run on 4th and 5 with 2 minutes to play up by 13?

A major concern.Sellers did a great job today not forcing the ball and giving up the interception or fumble. That is improvement over last year. He played impeccably given the O line he had to play behind.
Yes. Agreed. That's the way to finish.I was okay with it. Let's close out the game and take a knee. Defense had been on the field all day. The offense needed to put the game away.
No kidding… the poster who wasn’t worried obviously has not been a gamecock fan for many yearsI was!
Agreed!! Any team on our schedule from LSU on would have buried us today with that O line performance. We will definitely battle against better offensive teams this year as they dropped passes several times that could have changed this game. I’m glad we weren’t playing Vanderbilt today.OL gave up 4 sacks. Won't make the playoffs with that kind of pass blocking.
Or run blocking.OL gave up 4 sacks. Won't make the playoffs with that kind of pass blocking.
Better than last yearUgly at times but will take win above all.
On the safety our 6 couldn't block 3. Ridiculous. I do recognize VT's DL was stout, but come on!OL gave up 4 sacks. Won't make the playoffs with that kind of pass blocking.
