Anyone know the schedule for the upcoming season? Big XII tourney or regional qualifier?

There is no schedule yet. There is no basketball schedule yet and wrestling schedule is subject to that. I do not look for a schedule for at least a month if not more. They could announce it during the Alumni reunion they have scheduled in late September.

I know it was well into November last year. It is hard for wrestling fans to make any kind of arrangements for early tournaments. A couple of us have been to Chattanooga the last two years on New Years but still do not know if we will be going to Chattanooga this year. That is a very good tournament with a lot of the big teams there. Chattanooga is a nice place to visit.

Our schedule every year comes out sometime in September, last year it was released on Sept 20. I hear lots of great home dual (for sure PSU and Iowa). Will be going back to the Scuffle again so Oberebo make your plans. Trying to schedule a season between basketball and other schools you would think Eric would have loss his hair by now but it seems it only happens to guys like me! The schedule is almost done, they usually wait until football season starts before releasing it.

I stand corrected and Tognetti is correct the schedule did come out on 9/20/13. I now recall that my concern last year was the Joe Parisi Open at Lindenwood as the schedule did not show this and several of us were going to attend. I was able to get clarification on this from Oklahoma State and we went to the tournament where we had six champions in the open division. Apologies to the Oklahoma state staff for indicating the schedule came out in November.

You will probably see an invoice for your season tickets in your account now. Appears to be the same price as last year.

ISU released their schedule yesterday and it still has Big XIIs on it with no separate qualifier.

I have gone on a rant the last 3-4 years about the Big 12 wrestling tournament but not this year. I can not see how this would be allowed to stand. The NCAA will have to make changes. There may be a Big 12 tournament in Ames but I do not believe it will be a qualifier for the NCAA. As much as I like my good friend Goose why would anyone go to this tournament? I would go to Ames if we added about six more teams. Ames is not a bad place. I just want to go somewhere when I can see legitimate competition and not a semi and a final.

I can't remember if it was officially changed or just proposed, but the big 12 isn't a qualifier and they will have a western regional that any team who does not have an automatic qualifier can compete in to secure a spot. Otherwise I think big 12 wrestlers have to hope for an at-large.

So if you feel very comfortable getting an at large selection, you would just wrestle the Big 12 tourney and wait?

And if you don't think you are going to get an at large berth, you would go to the WWC qualifier? Would/could you take part of a team?

Is the WWC after the Big 12 tourney?

Just looked, the WWC (qualifier with SDSU, NDSU, etc) is March 7th in Fargo same date as Big 12 tourney in Ames.
