the points are misleading but you obviously know that as you watched the games

We need to be more aggressive or we won't win another game not name Wagner

We didn’t have to be more aggressive in these first 3 games…

Again, we’ll see what Michigan brings..

These first 3 games where great

He got the win so there's that.
However he let VT back in the game by playing dead.
Luckily the VT defense was really weak on RU's left side - the DE couldn't keep contain at all and RU ran there all night.
Kyle had a great game
So we kept at the run game and scored 2 more times in the 4th…out gained Tech 140 yards tomaybe 20 yards so in my estimation it worked… Be happy with zero turnovers which is the main take. Certainly not a perfect offensive showing but good enough to squeak out a win😁

Big fan of schiano and feel like he’s got things heading in the right direction again. But don’t like the slow play in the 3rd quarter. Too early. I don’t know if it’s him or the OC. That being said, GW wasn’t that accurate today.

Great to be 3-0. Love that we’re getting buzz. So much potential.
Sometimes one has to give credit to the other team, too. VT is no pushover and they came out fired up in the 3Q and punched back and made it close - and then we responded, like we did last week against Temple and put the game away in the 4Q. VT also had a nice variety of play calls that I hope Kirk paid attention to, especially rolling out a mobile QB to give him more time and using the backs very well in the passing game.

If next week could be 35-21 I wouldn’t be disappointed that we only won by 14 lol

It’s funny- Michigan is the elite that we have scared a few times
This game will be a lot closer than many people think.
If Gavin improves on his reads and makes the Pass opportunities he missed today look out. Upset is possible.

We always play Michigan tough..again, I think we have the coaching advantage (not so much I think Greg is a great coach…rather I think harbaugh is terrible) upset is certainly possible

What was the final score? It would appear they covered the spread. BTW the game consists of 4 15 minute quarters not 1-2 3 …

Being more aggressive when the team cannot execute it successfully is no kind of good solution.

If we’re lucky, the team can play more aggressively and we’ll see that as needed in upcoming games. Otherwise, if we don’t yet have the tools to do so successfully, saying we should play more aggressively is dumb.

Need to keep improving knowing we will be playing some very good teams . Rutgers will be an underdog however could we see an upset in one of those games?

Instead of people attempting to criticize Schiano and the game plan try to realize we are not there yet but people more knowledgeable than most on this board are thinking yes he can get it done. Bowl or Bust ….

We beat VT who is leading the lifetime series agasint us by 12-3 prior to this game. And we beat them by 19 points.

Yeah, there were momentum swings and it got close, briefly. But I don’t think the coaching was bad at all. And it wasn’t exactly a nail-biter, just like the prior two games this season.

Obviously the team has a long way to go, and will likely get beat up next week. But there is obvious improvement and the coaches are winning the games by decent margins.
All good points. As Herman Edwards said, “you play to win the game” and the team will be 4-1 in two weeks. I’ll should reserve judgment. Maybe we will see a passing game.

I actually thought it was a nail biter late in the 3rd Qtr when all the momentum had clearly shifted to VT and we were holding onto a 5 point and the Offense had gone into a shell.
The fantastic 3rd Down run by Kyle and the grit of the Team in the 4th Qtr was superb.

The points are misleading? Lol what? Points are points.
I think he meant the score didn’t match the game. VT far outgained us in the beginning, probably had 7-8 first downs before we got any, etc. it’s possible to be outplayed but be ahead. Overall in 4 quarters we did outplay them but I wouldn’t say we outplayed them in the first 20-25 minutes even though we had a lead.

The talent level that harbaugh brings in and disappoints every season is telling. He’s not a great coach.
So you're actually saying if you had the choice of the two to coach at Rutgers that you would pick Schiano?

And you can't say it's all recruiting with him because in the NFL he went to three straight NFC championship games, including a SB appearance.

I agree. I know I was biting my nails and thinking we had given away momentum and were gonna blow the game in the 3rd quarter.
And then KM broke that 3rd down run....with some nice blocking.

why? we were supposed to win these game and it's clear he's not playing to kill and is far too conservative.

per him, per the announcers he said, 'I manage risk, I manage the overall game'

He said risk first which tells you all you need to know

We need a guy that wants to put the foot on the opponents throat and press
The risk management spoke of was going for it on 4th down or not. Sometimes it is best to kick it away on 4th down.

For me, the most worrisome thing in this game was that the OL struggled in pass protection. I suspect that was expected by the RU coaching staff, judging by the play calling. VT had that one DE that seemed very good and was very disruptive. But RU seemed to scheme things to use that guy’s aggression against him at times.

GW can be good if he’s given plenty of time and if WRs get separation. That combination of things only happened a couple times in this game.

UM will be a good deal better on D than we’ve seen. So next week will be tough. I think our D will get worn down, unless we can produce turnovers.

I viewed that phase of the game as momentum change. But even if they got ahead, I didn’t feel like we would be out of it. This team has battled back from mid-game loss of momentum a couple times this season now. A good sign. Losing momentum happens, good teams battle through it.

For Michigan, they can call more aggressive plays because there's not much to lose. If RU has any trick plays it would be a good game to use them.

You said that after Northwestern, then after Temple, and now after VTech. Instead of admitting you are wrong you point out how bad Schiano is.
You watched those games right? It's been wash repeat wash each time i.e. each time we went into crawl mode.

newsflash, we were supposed to win these games. Now let's see what happens going forward

don’t think we have the players for that, starting with the QB. Greg is going with the hand that he dealt himself.

You are such a miserable person. It’s almost like you’re rooting against Rutgers.

McCarthy for UM with 3 INTs against Bowling Green. He's also hobbling around. Not an impressive game for them.

nah it's fine and anyone too sensitive to hear it in that regard is well 'retarded'. People need to grown up or apply this nonsense evenly.

half our fanbase if full on retarded, it's legit

And I think BG was using their 3rd String QB for most of the game due to injuries.
Michigan not overly impressive.

Michigan only up 7-6 against Bowling Green

I say it here often but outside of OSU, if their offense is performing like it has for years, I think we can be competitive with anyone else in the B10 on a given Saturday. We’ve already been competitive with Michigan at times in recent years.

Very competitive last season until the rash of turnovers hit.

Actually, you are not the judge of whether the word is “fine”. Society in general has spoken: it’s not “fine”. It’s unacceptable.
It's easier to ignore bigots and troglodytes on social media than to beat your head against the wall trying to change them. Often these types of people suffer from their own mental defects, and rhey compensate by putting down others to give themselves a false sense of superiority.
