Let's start a thread on Schianoisms so we can at least have some laughs during our misery

This sums up this year.....

Schiano: "We have VERTICAL ALIGNMENT so we can play COMPLIMENTARY FOOTBALL as we are a DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM and we have THE BEST OL DEPTH SINCE I'VE COME BACK and WE HAVE 2 QBs THAT ARE REALLY GOOD AND ITS A TIGHT RACE and we FINALY HAVE FINANCIAL SUPPORT and OUR DEFENSE WILL BE BETTER AND GUYS WILL BE IN A BETTER POSTION TO MAKE PLAYS

I mean you can't make this stuff up.

I may not have all 100% right but it's gotta be close!

Please add ones I missed.

“We aren’t trying to fool anybody”
1. I am proud of our guys, we just wasn't good enough today.
2. There are some things to be encourage by but there also some things that are frustrating.
3. Tough loss, we didn't coach well enough and we didn't play well enough today.
4. Disappointed in our performance, its starts and end with me.
5. I have been doing this a long time I know how tibdo it but you can't talk about it you have to go do it

it seems at every press conference that he has no idea what he is doing

The dude is lost and clearly has no answers.

It's like he just found out everything he ever believed in was false and he's denying that reality.
This is really the crux of it all. His ego won’t allow him to understand that his entire football belief system is one of failure. He can’t fathom it. Had he, he would have changed his ways long ago. I’ve always said his biggest strength (stubborn ego) is also what will bring him to his end

I believe this quote was, “we aren’t in the business of trying to fool people”. Meathead.

That’s the exact mindset Rutgers needs the opposite of.

Indiana beat Michigan at home today because of a deceptive play by QB. GS is on some kind of spectrum where he's fixated to bad ideas/practices that dont work.

I can’t find the quote about preferring a small playbook and executing it well.

That's Schiano's old 90s philosophy. The NY Giants had a coordinator named Ron Erhardt. He was one of those "if you execute you win" guys. He had a short list of plays called "The Dirty Dozen." They ran those over and over in practice and game. Lots of power running.

Doing the "if you execute you win" might work for Ohio St but not a lot of RU players can execute at the level Ohio St can. I haven't seen RU execute at a high level to beat a good B1G team. GS wants to line-up his soldiers and march into the guns like "Barry Lyndon".

Same name as the HoF SS 😁 on the Reds after outfielder Gary Redus left.

I'm actually okay with that philosophy..KISS (keep it simple stupid) but just saying it doesn't mean you're capable of doing it.

Mike Leach is a perfect example of how it works (his play sheet was a scrap of paper lol)and he was doing it at harder to win places too. Endless repetition until perfection was a big thing for him.

Having that philosophy and being able to execute that philosophy are 2 different things though.

Another example:

CIgnetti: Google me, I win.

GS: We're going to win national championships here going on almost 20 years.

Just saying something doesn't mean you're actually capable of doing it, the proof is in the eating.

Exactly. There is some obvious logic to execute the small (and low risk) playbook at a high level idea. Fewer penalties, turnovers and other imperfect execution errors by the players. If it worked with this program, it would be a bit ‘mechanical’ to watch as a fan but most would obviously accept it. I’d still argue it makes it hard to win shoot outs and close games but at least paired with a good defense, you can win games but there is still a ceiling IMO to how maki games you can win

If you have top talent KISS works but when you have below average talent in the B1G (except WR/RB) KISS won’t work. You need misdirection, surprises etc

It’s the culmination of failure of Schiano the ball is the program mindset. We are the least penalized team in the conference and have one conference win. We didn’t turn the ball over against Indiana and got destroyed.

His entire football belief system is one that leads to losing even when it’s implemented properly.
