So just a cursory look at the scholarship distribution shows us being over by 4.. 89/85

We may get a couple more signees..

So who's getting flushed?

I think they are planning on the Spring flush... Where are they on the 10 transfer portal players? Last I heard I think they were at 8.

Many we thin at some places, safety seems to be one. So if we are currently 4 over and looking to add 2-3 more, that would be 6 or more that need to go. That seems like a lot.

I think they still have to get to 88 by the start of spring semester, could be wrong on the exact timing of that.

Think Damion Jackson probably comes off scholarship since he can be covered with the GI bill.

Assuming one RB is planning on transferring based off current recruiting.

Other guys that may hang it up after graduating: Bando, Hixson, Wildeman (Sr. or RS Jr.s)

Guys that need to show something from the sophomore class this year: M Lynn, M Newsome, C Hickman, G Snodgrass, J Butler. If there isn’t any flash of serious potential there, likely looking at new homes next year.

Can always count on a few unexpected departures too.

I'm sure there will be plenty with all the change on the offensive staff and then losing the DL coach. Guys may not get along with a new coach as well as the prior coach or may find they don't fit the new scheme as well as maybe another opportunity might. And who knows, maybe a player or two won't make it through winter conditioning without having to go on medical scholarship because an injury didn't heal the way they wanted. It wouldn't surprise me if 8 to 10 left due to the changes or fit.

All the speculation is fine, I get all that but they have to have some pretty hard numbers going into spring ball and this ain't it. There is talk about the nonproducers need to go but getting there is not not that easy. What does a player do who is marginal and the coaches tell them, hey you probably won't play or play much at all just so you can make the best decision for yourself. That player just has had enough and really doesn't want to leave, finish the career, get on with life so they stay. I assume we think all these guys have this huge burning desire to "make it" some where when that may not be it at all.

I thought Will Nixon would be a very good player for us when he signed. Maybe he still will be, but he hasn’t done anything yet.

He still has a ton of potential and Mickey might be good for him. He looked good in spring game but just never got any run. I’d much rather try him than Liewer

Wildeman by far the biggest dissapointment for me and it isnt close.. i think Nixon will be here next year.. but stepp and maybe 1 more rb gone...yant maybe

I hope Yant sticks around.. but agree that Stepp may be asked to move on.
