Doubtful I beat those two anytime soon. Still this is what he told me. Besides he said they're alot bigger now. And he said he's low on trumpets so I'll see how it is on a visit.

'A lot' is two words. It also meant an automatic failing grade in my hs English class. Don't make that mistake on your scholarship essays.

The best most meaningful advice I can give you that will last for your whole life going forward from this day...

..don't ask the paddock for meaningful advice especially on life decisions..

.. and also I agree with the guy who said you should try to get as far away from your life as possible.. go to MSU and live a little bit

This is incredibly stupid.

The paddock gives the best advice and here is why. Not only do we toughen you up, we make you ask better questions. We help your analytical skills.

This guy I'm quoting obviously came here with a terrible question and was ridiculed for it, he took it as the paddock is a bunch of jackels. He never once stopped to think, "is it me asking the dumb questions?"

No.

The world is a fun place but hard. People don't care about you, and asking dumb **** makes it even worse.

Paddock is best place for sports, food, clothes, electronic, legal, wrestling, political, random ******** you will ever find.

Sure, the paddock needs a certain expertise to navigate, but like most things, if you're willing to learn, it's worth it.

Why is it I can't ever tell if trumpetcat is trolling or getting trolled when he does one of these threads?! What is it trumpetcat? Are you some sort of message board savant or what?
trumpetcat has to be a brilliant troll. Or a lame high school senior. Maybe both.

I suggest this. You are not French and are male.

The number-one rule in packing for an enlistement to the Legion is to pack light.

You HAVE to take with you:

  • all documents already stated above (ID card, …)
  • 3 T-shirts, 3 briefs and 3 pairs of socks
  • a pair of trainer/sneaker
  • about 10-50 euros
  • vanity case/toiletries:
    • soap/shower gel
    • razor + lather
    • toothbrush
    • toothpaste
    • bath towel
    • bath shoes/slippers
You did NOT HAVE to take with you:

  • computer/laptop/tablet
  • camera
  • big amount of money (300+ euros/400+ USD)
  • credit cards
  • valuables, jewellery
You MUST NOT take with you:

  • weapons: gun, knife…
  • car or motorcycle keys
  • house keys

Lindsey is like $35K a year with all expenses included. There's no way you get a full ride for band, even if you play and lead the band like Miles Davis.

Berea is fine if you keep your nose clean.
No Sex, no car, you have to work 10 hours per week as student employee

It's a tight knit residential college with students from all over the world.

I'll weigh in (as someone with some band program knowledge). Tim Allen is indeed a well respected educator in Kentucky. With that said, what other reasons do you want to go to LWC? If your goal is to improve on your instrument and/or become a music educator, you need to look at who your studio professor will be. MSU (I'm assuming Morehead) has a trumpet professor who has played lead trumpet on big time movie soundtracks (Rocky anyone?) as well as played professionally in Broadway productions and in Vegas. He knows the biz. The players that come out of there are rock solid performers and educators. The Band/Music ed guy at Berea is a trumpet player as well (if tuition is a concern). Very personable, has presented nationally and genuinely really knows his stuff. I can attest to the notion of needing to get away from my own life in order to succeed in college. I stayed home and was on a trajectory to flunk out. Once I moved out I focused only on what I needed to do to salvage my grades and get a job (making deans list and presidents list a handful of times). Ultimately it's what you feel most comfortable with. It's an exciting time as a senior when people are contacting you to tell you that they have money for you. Make an educated decision. A little bit of debt isn't a bad thing (don't get the max amount and blow it on spring break and all of the nicest things you can get). How much you learn from your experience is the most important thing. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. Good luck

Nice try, Tyler Hollingsworth. We know you don't want our boy coming to your school because you are scared. Trumpetcat is Paddock Strong™ now. You should be worried.

OP You are obviously just gonna get mop-up minutes at LWC your first few seasons. The One and Done's will have too much talent for you to overcome. Your best bet is to go there, sit on the bench and be a rock star on campus, wade up to your eyelids in poo-nanny, and wait for Coach Allen to have a down recruiting year. Then will come your chance to shine. Remember, every LWC championship team has had key contributing Kentucky boys on the roster. You could be that straw that stirs the drink, so to speak. Blue Raider Nation is counting on you to be that four-year leader.

I recently got called by THE MR TIM ALLEN (the greatest band director in KY history) and he said he wants me at Lindsey Wilson College. I was heavily considering Berea but they haven't given a verdict yet. Also MSU said they'll pay most of my way. Mr. Allen said if I do band at LWC I'll get a full ride. Not sure what to do. Overload. Any advice. (Isn't this ironic because I always talk about recruits)!
Hey trumpet, did you get the scholly? Are you going to Lindsey Wilson?

since no one wants to address the elephant in the room, i will. which school has hotter band chicks? i mean, i saw "american pie," so i know you bandos all go crazy.

Does that include the girls that did not make the cut for cheer leading and have to throw a baton or wave a flag?

Oh for crying out loud - it was one performance where Tyler played with his lower lip pushed forward and his mouth corners drawn down.

Yes, he had to overblow to compensate but I bet under the same circumstances your tone would be unfocused and your pitch would be bad. We all have bad days, he's been a model of successful tone production ever since.

Like this?
