Once you are approved you just have to come over there. Should be anytime as @Vernon has those granting capabilities.

I tried my password and it didn't work.

At times it requires you to log out and back in but it should be working for you. You can usually tell by the fact that it shows the subscriber badge under your username here on the forums.
