Scoreboard orientation

From middle to high school, my schools' scoreboards have been left side, home, right side, away or guests. It's like that for every sport. Which is why it irks my nerves to see scoreboards with the home score on the right. I know its common, but to me, it's backwards. Which way do you think is the correct way?

I've seen it both ways. Last night at the middle school game in Tarboro and I got a little disoriented because the bigger number was on the right side of the board. The board in Tarboro is Home on left, Guest on the right, even though its backwards of the seating. The big board at ECU is Home on the left, Guest on the right. Your way feels right to me.

If you notice even as college or pro games home teams are posted on right or on bottom

Not all. Like it was said above, ecu is home left. And their board is fairly new-ish.
