21 0 cherokee 3 mins left after a pick 6 with Andrews down to 3rd string qb and having to air it out to try and play catchup. This one is done.
The Qb was put into a role he had never played and he made some bad choices in 2nd half. Also I didn’t know our starting running back was out tonight till I got to the game. We just don’t have the numbers to have 3 starters out, the other one being one of our defensive backs who is gone for the season. He was a big hitter. When we got to the one and couldn’t punch it in that hurt then inside the 20 and threw the first interception put the nail in the coffin. I’m still proud of this young team. They bent a lot but stopped Cherokee in the red zone enough to keep it close
Whoever comes east is going to have to bring a lot bc I just have to be honest. We re loaded with talent this year.
Good luck the rest of season. Maybe Evans will get back for rest of the season. You got a very physical team especially up front
I have to say I was very disappointed in Robbinsville’s performance. I know we had the line patched together and it was most evident in the center and qb’s exchanges. If we play like hat next week Cherokee will hand us a big L. We missed tackles and were just going thru the motions on Defense. Hickory wasnt a bad team at all but we should have won by 30. Just my opinion. As always open for discussion.
Dee could have left the starters in and won by 30. We were up by 24 when he pulled them..It was very hard for the team to get in rhythm with a flag every other play. I'm guessing Hickory had 30 penalties. I think we were just going through the motions. The fans or the players were just not really into the game.. Terrible game to watch. Wasn't over til almost 10:30. Refs let the game get out of hand. Totally unacceptable when a player hits a ref.

Hickory had some size and speed. They just got a flag ever other play. One ref got hurt because of hickory kids. Cops were called in at end of game because hickory fans being a holes. Terrible game to watch.
Game was closer than the final score. Andrews couldn't score from Cherokee's 1 yard line and 2 different interceptions at or near the end zone sealed the win for the Braves. Hats off to Cherokee's line which I thought was the difference in the game but the Wildcats played hard and never quit. Our predominately sophomore line should be bigger, stronger and better next year.
Not questioning the Andrews coach but he ran dive and q.b keeper 5 times in a row with no success. The braves got in goal line D and blitzing the A & B gaps spells no points for the cats. Like I said not second guessing the coach but mix it up a little bit. Looked like Andrew could have tied it up in 3rd quarter just couldn’t punch it in. Better not overlook Andrews !!!
So you think its a good idea to run a QB keep 5 times in a row? Sounds like coach is predictable and any DEF coach knows exactly whats coming.
I agree kids must execute, however coach needs to know what his teams strengths/weakness are, I wasnt at the game, but box scores and stats leads me to believe young wildcats just cant move the ball. Move on from the Veer if you want to win with that team.

No I think it’s a terrible idea, against a 6 man front I would want run outside the tackles. I’m obviously not a coach just thinking out loud
Just my opinion, I think in small 1A you have to evaluate what talent you have and pick a offensive scheme that fits your athletes. In college & pro a coach comes in and brings his style of offense and recruits players that go with that style of offense. In small 1A you don’t have that luxury and have to build a offense that goes with what talent you have. This might mean changing a lot from year to year but that’s how I see it. Murphy & Swain has the numbers where they can stick with their styles and have mastered it. Just my opinion
Yes he did. Wilson the tailback was out but will be back Friday and Holloway the Qb was out and I don’t know when he will be back.
He was ejected from the Cherokee game, unsure how that will play in this week. Cats have a good chance of winning against Hayesville, if healthy.
