EW is just bad. Congrats to Elks, Alleghany, and Starmount. EW just isn't built for playoffs. No swagger..no enthusiasm..and worst of all absolutely no defense all year. Hate it for the Seniors though.
Murphy played most of that game without McTaggart and all of it without Roberts, plus Vining quit the week of the game and forced a major reshuffle of the defense as a result. Murphy wins that game with all their pieces.
murphy don't even play tonight but they are thumping their chests, I say to murphy, play in the 1AA like Swain does then you can thump your chest
I’ll concur that I hate seeing Murphy play down after years of being 1-AA but doesn’t beating Murphy make it that much sweeter. Having that motivation year and year out makes those moments of victory worth it.
Murphy is a powerhouse of a program. I guess people think they should petition to play up. A championship is a championship though. But give it a rest. Everbody knows Tarboro has little to no comp in 1aa this year...but Murphy along with N.Stanly..Mt.Airy..would offer some resistance. Everybody wanted to see Murphy go big..but I could see them as happy to be small as well this year. Great team. Great tradition. But borderline teams with tradition and swag such as Murphy should always want to play up and should accept no less if there was an option to do so.
