DinwiddieProud... I personally don't think it would be worth a 5 hour round trip. Not knocking W&L but from what I know to be coming back for both teams and some jv moving up.... Essex should win with a very comfortable margin. Both are rivals, so you never know.

Thanks Essex. I was sort of suspecting that you would say that. If it was a game that counted, I would expect both teams to play totally to win. Even though it will be conducted like a real game, you know the coaches will use it to evaluate players.

Like you said, Essex should be significantly better than W&L. So I think I will pass. The only bad thing about not coming down for this game is I probably not get another shot this year. Wait, isn't the regular season game with W&L played on a Saturday? If so, I will make it this year. Let me know, please. Of course if Dinwiddie misses, or gets knocked out of, the playoffs, I will make it to an Essex playoff game, for sure.

while I have no idea whether the contest will be lopsided one way or the other, I do suspect that both coaches will not keep their starters out there for more than a half unless one group is hapless.

My football traveling mate, my brother in law, retires this Friday after 35 years with Pepsi. He is raring to go anywhere I come up with an idea for. So expect us. We were going last year but I was half sick and the weather was threatening to be crappy. If I remember correctly we had heavy rain most of the week leading up to the game.

Yup. Leading up to that game, it was raining a few days. Even the day of the game was calling for rain I think. It was cloudy and very windy during that game.
