It's half true. She made accusations in a social media video. He denied them and cited them as part of a messy divorce. He has been up and down between MLB/AAA for two seasons but had not been pitching well since end of June. He was demoted for performance (although I'm sure that stuff didn't help).
You are right. A MLB team is not likely to demote a player who is consistently performing at a major league level.
