I'll just leave this here. Whether you get too crazy about college football analytics or not, IMO it's a pretty useful tool for broadly judging how a program is trending.

F+: 88th nationally and last in the SEC
(down dramatically from 68th last year; up from 97th Stoops first year; exact same national rank as Joker's last year)

FEI: 77th nationally and 13th in the SEC (down from 76th last year; up from 95th Stoops first year; up from 111th Joker's last year)

S&P+: 95th nationally and last in the SEC (down dramatically from 58th last year, down from 84th Stoops first year; down from 75th Joker's last year)

Sagarin: 86th nationally and 13th in the SEC (down dramatically from 49th last year; up from 104th Stoops first year; up from 93rd Joker's last year)

Upshot across all ratings is a pretty significant step back in performance this season (versus last) against one of the easiest schedules faced by any Power 5 team (72nd toughest SOS in the S&P+, 60th in Sagarin).

So in terms of what we accomplished on the field we are about where we were when Joker left. That is a frightening thought if you are a UK fan.

I know some will point out that recruiting is better and it is no doubt about that.

One other thought,in Jokers first year the cards were stacked in favor of a successful season and he eeked into a bowl and fell on his face there.I think he had talent about equal to what Stoops had this year. Now,fast forward to this year, the cards were once again stacked in Stoops' favor for a 6 or 7 win season and we had to basically fall apart to keep that from happening,we did just that

This is a scary time for the football program, you could make a pretty good case that we are about to fall off the map in football, somebody point out a reason we won't do that.

Thanks for the stats. It is pretty obvious that UK was worse this year than last year. The question is, is it a recruiting issue (overrated) or inadequate coaching? Were the players prepared for the games? I saw players who had great first halves but, horrible third quarters with no adjustments being made to give the team a chance at success. Very frustrating.

I'd like to see the stats split.
2014 - First half of the yr stats compared to the last half
2015 - Same

Ugly and not surprising.
