Think that's a guaranteed win now. Westry will enjoy picking balls out of the air as he tries to go 'vertical' on us.

I liked his nature of going vertical. I didn't like his lack of in game adjustments.

guess we'd have to see the contract, but I'd think that UK's payment due to Dawson for next season would likely be deducted by whatever S. Miss is paying him

happy he got a job, best of luck to him other than game 1

Does it work that way? just curious because I do not know.

Yes, whatever amount he is paid is deducted from his buyout.

Despite all of the criticism of the previously fired assistants under Stoops, they've all been hired elsewhere the same season. It's nice that they haven't had extended periods of unemployment just for that reason.

Usually the contracts work out to subtract the new salary from what is owed on the buyout. So whatever USM is paying you can subtract that from what UK owes him.

Interesting. I didn't know that. I thought the amount was guaranteed no matter what. That is good news then.

Really good senior QBs are never easy to beat. Dawson will also know the D backwards and forwards. Just a hunch but I think he'll be very motivated over the summer for that game.

That's pretty much how it works, Bama is paying Jeremy Pruitt less than UGA did and UGA is having to make up the difference.

This could go one of two ways.

First, Dawson could decide to stick to his guns and not throw to the tight end, run the QB/ a true read-option, or run the Wildcat.

Second, Dawson could decide to put a winning-caliber strategy in place which uses all of those facets and we're in trouble.

Apparently he's going after one of our recruits as well according to a premium story (I'm assuming from the headline)

He'll ride his senior QB who threw for 4000 last year.

Anyone taking bets on whether he lands him or not? My money is on NO. Kentucky isn't really competitive yet in the SEC but we soon will be, and I don't even know what conference S. Miss plays in, so my guess is he will stick to playing in the best conference in America. If someone steals him away from us, it will not be S. Miss

Probably won't amount to anything but it is interesting that a coach UK canned reappears on their schedule and a coach UofL canned reappears on their schedule.

So they should get some big plays and the D will wear out and we should run all over them in the 2nd half.

Watched parts of their games last year. They did have a good O, the senior QB is outstanding and they return a good RB too. But their D was pretty bad. While they may be able to score they'll likely give up points too. Still, UK will have to play football and make football plays in order to win.

Why? He is possibly the reason why there was so much turmoil last year.
Interesting take...talked to someone the other day VERY close to Neil Brown and was told that MS and NB also had issues about his offensive schemes so maybe this wasn't all SD's fault...hope MS has finally found the guy to run the ball control running offense he thinks he can run in the SEC AT KENTUCKY...guess we shall see...
