My direct superior at work is from Seattle and a HUGE Seahawks fan. He is over the moon about Nick and is high on Ernest as well.

Sorry I won`t accept his apology. One of the most selfish moves ever. You can pull for him - that`s fine - but I won`t. Ernest yes.

Anyone paying attention? Ernest Jones and Nick E. tearing it up on the defensive side of the ball.

Nick appoligized, let's move on.
Living in Montana, NFC = Seahawks (unless you're a Packers fan, which is disgusting); AFC = Broncos.

Man, you don't have to be "perfect" - but when you QUIT on your team mid game.... you're a quitter. No amount of spin will ever change that.
20 year-olds make mistake all the time that are far worse than what Nick did. Unfortunately for folks like yourself, you live through these 20 year old. Bottom line; he appoligized, moved on and is very successful.

I have choosen to be happy for him. You choose to be bitter. To each his own.

Wrong. He "apologized" because he knows there's people like yourself who are gullible and will pat him on the back anyway (as he uses you until he can't use anymore) and give him a participation trophy in the process.

It is people like yourself who ENCOURAGE people like him.....and it's never ever ok. That's not bitter. That's fact.

Not gullible. I would have forgiven him if he hadn't apologized. It's who I am. I pull for any player that wore a gamecock jersey. I understand that their livelihood and futures are at stake. Regrettable decisions are made. Move on.

I currently coach. I have players that quit and transfer all the time. I pull for them when they move on as i'm sure Beamer does for Nick. It's a choice. You choose to be bitter.

Some of us take this fandom thing too seriously. Didn't agree with Nick sitting out the second half at the time, but it's over. He has moved on to bigger and seemingly better things. We should be looking to do that with our '26 team.

I know this was a totally different issue but this is why you don't give up on a young player that makes a regrettable mistake.

“As for the bowl, it was just some miscommunication between me and some coaches. We weren’t on the same page I’ll take some accountability for that. never intended for it to end like that and I never quit on my teammates. Still one hell of a season to look back and celebrate glad I was apart of it,”

That's not an apology. That's an explanation.

I'm factual, not bitter. - If he actually apologized elsewhere, google isn't returning that and I'll gladly eat crow.

True. It is different issues. But there are hidden lessons there that you have left out.

In the article, Nick says he suspended the guy and made him do stuff. That is a negative consequence that the player had to endure, and overcome.

Our guy faced no consequences other than some unpleasant social media backlash that he quickly blamed on something else, only took "some" accountability - and then became a millionaire on paper.

It's apples and camels, and the lessons therein are just as stark. - So, we agree to disagree. Just different perspectives. I believe one kid learned a lesson and the other kid learned nothing except how to skirt responsibility.

Been a packer fan since they drafted Sharpe and Brooks. Have a couple gamecocks on the team now. Don't have to pull for them, but not disgusting.
How many Packer fans do you know? They're obnoxious, just like Clemson fans. I pull for Enagbare and Nixon... their defense.

THAT was his supposed apology? He never quit, except when he quit at halftime?

Im all for moving on, but not over that "apology".

Fortunately, or unfortunately, whether we pull for or against the guy, and our reasons for pulling for or against him, have no bearing on his success or lack thereof. If our "pulling for" made any difference, the Gamecocks would have at least as many championships as Alabama does.

But y'all keep on hating on each other.

I travel to Green Bay all the time. I stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, just a short walk from Lambeau Field. Real Packer fans are not obnoxious, they're some of the most down to earth people I've ever met.

Fair enough. I guess it's the ones that get too far from cheeseland that go berserk.
