Yep, replace Clemson with small school as discussed last season. The playoff committee values wins over quality of opposition.Create a major disadvantage for us with Clemson on our schedule
Guess we’d be wise to admit defeat and concede the rivalry to Clemson.Yep, replace Clemson with small school as discussed last season. The playoff committee values wins over quality of opposition.
We just have one more tough SEC opponent to face now (unlike playing in their conference) so might as well have 3 automatic wins lined up out of conference. But I realize it'll never happen too.Guess we’d be wise to admit defeat and concede the rivalry to Clemson.
Every team also has to schedule a game with ACC, Big10, Big12 or Notre DameYep, replace Clemson with small school as discussed last season. The playoff committee values wins over quality of opposition.
If anything this development guarentees the annual Clemson game. 9 conference games and 1 mandatory P4 or ND.Yep, replace Clemson with small school as discussed last season. The playoff committee values wins over quality of opposition.

Right, my comment was more about frustration with the playoff committee. I realize we aren't dropping the Clemson gameEvery team also has to schedule a game with ACC, Big10, Big12 or Notre Dame
If our new SEC opponent is Miss State or Arkansas we might get a pretty easy conference win.We just have one more tough SEC opponent to face now (unlike playing in their conference) so might as well have 3 automatic wins lined up out of conference. But I realize it'll never happen too.
Agree. Like I said, the comment was more about venting my frustration with the playoff committee after last season than really wanting/expecting to drop Clemson. If our new SEC opponent is Miss State or Arkansas we might get a pretty easy conference win.
Dropping Clemson would be admitting we can't compete with them and conceding the rivalry. I prefer a tough schedule so I can see good teams play. I can't imagine how boring and awful being a Clemson fan is watching them play all those horrible ACC teams and the cupcakes on their schedule. Paying hundreds of dollars each game to watch my team beat a weak opponent seems much worse to me than watching my team face a good team and have wins mean something.
To be fair, last season we had some wins over big name programs that didn't have very good teams. OU and A&M were not good last season but the wins looked good on paper.Agree. Beamer complained about the need for more emphasis placed on SOS vs win total after we got left out of playoff. I just read the playoff committee actually supposedly changed the SOS metric to carry more weight during the offseason (which I didn't realize).
This is the good part for me, except for the Noodle Lame part. I love seeing them get beat. I know as a Gameock fan this is not really acceptable to say, but I hate them worse than Clemson. Truly.Every team also has to schedule a game with ACC, Big10, Big12 or Notre Dame

8-5 is their best season in years ?But this isn't fair.
A&M came into WB in November #10 in the country.
Their only loss was the opener to #7 Notre Dame.
Prior to playing us, beat #8 LSU 38-23 and had blasted #9 Missoui 41-10 a few weeks prior.
They had their best season in years.
It was their best season in years (at least since they'd joined the SEC) until they ran into a buzzsaw in Williams-Brice! I guess we literally killed their season.8-5 is their best season in years ?
