I'm not saying the SEC is holier than thou, but they did put the rule in place. And I do agree it was about image, there is no doubt about that.

Right. I don't know if a coach would ever go on record I don't follow all this close enough. But, I am willing to bet they are not happy about having restrictions on who to bring to their program.

It is also odd Bill, for these programs to bend over to keep guys on teams that break a # of rules, but make a big fuss in other instances for an isolated incident that happened at another place, where the court process may in some instances, clear the name of the individual charged.

I think the SEC attempted to kill several birds with one stone. They wanted to give the public perception that the SEC was taking a stand against domestic violence given the recent happenings.
They were trying to make the playing field in the SEC level among the schools.
And I think the situation with Taylor really played a larger role in this ruling than maybe anything. How can you promote zero tolerance if you allow a player that was kicked off UGA to play at Bama? I'm sure that ruffled a lot of feathers. Then he got in trouble again at Bama.
