And now Georgia goes up 3 TDs today on Penn State... The Dawgs have a lot of talent returning next year (especially on D). They'll be right at home with Kirby Smart coming in. Maybe the "down" days of the SEC East are about over. UT impressed me too.

Georgia holds on, think that makes the league 7-2. But KState looks to be really fired up, and Arkansas, not so much. Early, but will be interested to see if Arkansas wants to play or is happy to be there....

Hopefully this KSU vs ARK game will be good throughout the whole game... Tired of watching the potential good bowl games be blowouts.

IMO, I always feel it's how some of our fans justify us sucking for 50 years. "Yeah, we suck, but look how good our conference is." We are the laughing stock of the SEC. Whenever they get us on their schedule, their fans smile and know the have a W. They kick our *** and laugh while doing it and you want me to all of a sudden root for them? It depends on who they're playing as I will root for an SEC team if I dislike their opponant, but I am not going to blindly root for the SEC.
I understand that thinking - but think the opposing view has merit. Reading this site or listening to rival fans (who sometimes sound the same lol), you'd think we've "sucked for 50 years" out of sheer ineptness or disinterest. We play in the NFL Jr. division, and that has to be taken into account when judging UK football. Playing in the SEC for a long time was nothing but positive....but in the last say 15 years, as we've moved to the modern era, the SEC has the best players, the best coaches, the best facilities, and the craziest, most demanding fans, I don't know that its net positive any longer. Example: The 2007 team that started 6-1 and was ranked #8 - if that team plays in the Big East or the ACC, it finishes 11-1 or 10-2. Building a program in this conference isn't as easy as rolling out of bed, despite what you read here daily. I believe it's going to be really hard to do it, and seeing the teams we play week in and out destroy other leagues affirms what I think I see.....

I think Stanford and Bama are mirror images of each other in a lot of ways. Bama's d-line is a NFL d-line. Goodness.
You do know that Mike Leach and wsu lead Stanford [banana][banana]going into the 4th qtr and fell short 30-28..just saying:football::football::boxing::boxing::smiley:

I think that if that's team was in the east this year we may have been in the sec championship game...you have to admit that the east has been down the last 2-4 years

I must respectfully agree to disagree with most. The SEC is always gonna be good. The SEC is always gonna be competing for the national title, and the SEC money is always gonna pour in. Right now, I couldn't care less what the rest of the conference does. I won't hesitate to watch a good game, but I will only cheer for UK. My 2 cents.

Tickles me how this tears some of you guys up.

Doesn't tear me up, just making a comical statement based on those posting about puffing out the SEC football chest when, like clockwork, UK sucked and is sitting home during bowl season.

Why is it so hard for you to get being a fan of your conference as much as a fan of your school?

Because I am UK football fan, not a fan of the other SEC schools recruiting against us and whooping **** out of us.

Because we had a hard year we're not a part of the conference?

Hard year? Try hard 60+ years and yes, we are still part of the same conference.

We can't claim affiliation because we didn't contribute?

Sure, as Samwise eloquently stated, "MSU is going be beat the hell out of us" or something like that. How many other beatdowns did we contribute for the overall good of the SEC? Awesome contribution!

Got a news flash for you.... When We win in basketball none of us had a thing to do with it but we puff out our chests pretty good as fans then don't we.

Not really, I want UK football to succeed, not other SEC football teams at our expense...the UK administration has made it very clear the Alabama equivalent of the basketball SEC will continue to win regardless.

It's called regional pride boys, not a hard concept.

Regional pride? They kicked our asses in recruiting, they kicked our asses on the field and now they are winning some of these "meaningless" bowl games which do mainly two things: 1. keeps the team together for another 1-2 months with greater camaraderie and younger player development and 2. exposure for recruiting better players to the programs; the ones you praise that will be better poised to kick our asses again next year. I'll pass on the rooting for other SEC teams to get better while we sit stagnated.

It's ok to be proud of our brothers

1. Yes, the SEC East has been down (although that's been made to look worse than it really is because of the natural inclination to compare it to the SEC West - if your brother is 6'8, you look pretty short at 6'3, but you're not really short).
2. Admittedly, this year set up as one of the most favorable schedules in a generation or more - 8 wins were there for the taking, and I don't remember when that was true before and who knows how long until it will happen again. That's the main reason this year was so disappointing, and may prove to be the difference between CMS making it or not.
3. Despite all that, I think the overall landscape is as challenging as my first post reflects.....

i understand your way of thinking BT but others just like seeing their brothers do well even if they are the pip squeak little brother. Guaranty if we had made a bowl they would be pulling like crazy for us and most do so when we make our run through the basketball tourney each time even though we've beat the life out of them twice that year. Not really that hard a concept. Just regional pride.

The SEC is now 8-2 with an average margin of victory of 25.875. The margin for all 10 games was +16.7 per game. The 2nd best conference was the Pac 12 with a record of 6-4. Alabama vs. Clemson is the only bowl game left

The one thing that stands out is how much of an effect QB play had on the results. Florida lost by 34, Texas A&M lost by 6, both had terrible QB's. Despite bad QB play Georgia won by 7. Auburn had bad QB play and won by 21 with 251 yards rushing and a +2 turnover margin. The other 7 teams won by 21 or more.
