UK at number 12. I think they should be ahead of Vandy but whatever I guess.

Definitely ahead of Vandy IMO, we can't a afford to lose that game at home this year. We have four SEC teams from the top half of the SEC, always tough, we really need to upset one of those like we used to do. but the good news is we have four SEC games against teams picked 10th or worse in the conference. Have to have three or four OOC wins, Southern Miss isn't such a big threat to beat us IMO but a loss to them would be pretty much a disaster, not too many teams we should just out talent overall I already have my bet on the Southern Miss game at -7, I hope the injuries bring it down a point or two.

Can't quibble too much with those rankings. The good news is that there is a path be #8 or #9 in the conference, depending on how good or bad MSU, Auburn, and Arkansas turn out to be. On the other hand, if UK does not take advantage or a weak bottom in the SEC east this year and in 2017 then we may be destined for a perpetual spot in the cellar.

Not that it makes any difference that SEC list is apparently a "poll" of the ESPN staff. Note the various by-lines accompanying each write up. The actual ESPN 2016 FPI lists UK at a not too horrible #56. That ranking is the best of the pre-season "mathematical models" that attempt to rank all 128 teams. However, in this list, #56 is last among all SEC teams.

FWIW, in the FPI rankings, the "mathematical edge" of Vandy and SC is offset by the hypothetical 3 point home field advantage suggesting UK will be a slight favorite in these games. Likewise MO gets the points to be a 5 point fav at Columbia. All 3 of these teams are projected as 5-7 teams. In these rankings MSU has separated itself from the other 3 and is projected with a 7-5 finish. Personally, I see little difference in these 4 teams (UK, Vandy, SC and MO) and the Cats get 3 of them in Lexington.

Peace

Weird how they assume that South Carolina, Mizzou, and Vandy will be better.
