Will be travelling to Nashville with family this March for the tournament. Any recommendations for UK friendly bars and food out there?! I am assuming the whole city will be blue. I have never been to the area before. Will be staying down town 1/4 mile from the arena. GO CATS!

Barlines is a nice little bar with good bar grub and plenty of TV's. Located in the Omni hotel just down the street from Bridgestone. It is connected to the Country Music Hall of Fame. No amazing restaurants downtown but, if you can, get over and eat some of Hattie B's Hot Chicken. You will never be the same, in many ways including a probable hole in your colon. But it's worth it. Great stuff. It's about 1 1/2 out of downtown on 19th.
If you have the money and time, the Predators are in town on Tuesday following the tournament. They are an up tempo hockey team (fast paste) and the environment is a lot of fun.
Some seats in Bridgestone are really, really small. So if you are a big fellow and have those seats, get ready to squeeze in a little.

Makes me wonder if I should sell my books this year. No one would buy them for less than face the last time the tournament was in Nashville (I was trying to recoup some money atfer being laid off). Maybe I can make that money back.
Tempting, very tempting. Think I'll just enjoy the games.

I know at least 15 people going to Nashville without tickets and hoping to get them on the street. Its going to be a BBN zoo down there. It would not surpaise me that 10K Cats fans will be there without tickets trying to do the same thing. Good Luck! on getting them.

Jack's BBQ is sooo good but there's usually a long line out of the door. Legends is my favorite bar on Broadway, great country music!
Do not be surprised to find a live band in your hotel shower in Nashville (not really). They are everywhere in the Music City and most of them are pretty good. There will be your typical money-begging vagrant on the street (not that there is anything wrong with that) and if you are into vinyl records now, visit Ernest Tubb Record shop. Great place to browse. Oh, and the basketball will be sweet. Enjoy!!!

SEC tournaments are a lot of fun, but it simply amazes me how much some fans will pay for a book of tickets to tournament games that really mean nothing to UK unless it's a year like 13 when they had to win it to get in. I remember in 2010 good lower level books were selling for $1500 plus. As said above though in 13 when UK wasn't very good, tickets were completely worthless.
I wish that was possible, but don't think it will be. but we'll see.

I am in the same boat looking for tickets down there. It is looking more and more likely that we will just do the bar thing and just party it up that way. I have got a feeling these prices are going to be insane.
I had 2 books in 2010 and had invited a friend from out of town to attend the Saturday semi-finals game. He shows up with his girlfriend so we had to go looking for an extra. Ended up selling my pair of tickets for that game for $800 which was more than face value for the books and still had my tickets for Sunday's finals.
Figuring UK won't play until Friday, the goal is to pickup tix on the street to just get in the building. Then pickup tix for Saturday and/or Sunday from the losers. In Catlanta a couple of years ago, we ended paying on average about $25/ticket for the whole trip.
I've done that before too, and it's a great ideal, but even that is becoming harder and harder to do. Now even the fans of the losing teams are realizing the value of tickets, and are becoming scalpers too. They know how insane and how much the UK fans will pay, and they can sell their tickets and pay for their trip. I don't know how they could ever do it, but I wish there was some way that the average working fan that could afford face value tickets could get tickets for these games.
We have 2 books for the lower arena and paid $900.00 per book. Last price I saw on Stubhub was over $1300 per book. Was there in 2013 when UK lost it's first game. Immediately after the game, the scalpers dropped their Will Buy Tickets signs. They took a beating that year. Beware of people selling bogus tickets. Last year I heard a lady saying that they bought two tickets for semi's for over $300 and they were bogus. I guess that's a risk you take when you buy them off the street but sometimes you can get a good deal. Several good eating places in Downtown Nashville, One of my favorites is Demo"s. Good food, reasonable price.
I agree about Demo's. One I've my favorites as well. Never had a bad meal there, and the prices are reasonable.
I live in Nashville. There are a number of great places to eat. If you don't have tickets and are just wanting to watch the game somewhere, obviously Broadway has a number of bars. But you better get somewhere early if you want to get a table. It will be a sea of blue everywhere.

Umm, the ticket situation & Atlanta vs. Nashville could not be *any* more different.
You can get into the GaDome for nearly free...Nashville is not that way in the least. You'll pay $$$$ to get in the building.
Best bet, as always, is to target the losers on their way out of the arena...but Nashville is a different animal than the other SECT venues when it comes to tickets & it's not even close.
And just so people know the FACE value for books this year are $425 (lower) and $360 (upper). So use that as a baseline. Double those prices and that is what you will at least expect to pay for a full book of tickets.
The Wednesday night games will be the lowest attended of course, so if you can find a single ticket to get in that night, try to work some magic and hopefully someone will sell to you.

My son and I contemplating doing this...Have reservations for motel and didn't think it would be that difficult getting tickets from other teams fans once they lose...Good idea or not???
Depends - you'll likely have to get lucky as there will be about 300 fans for a losing team and about 10,000 UK fans trying to buy them, plus a couple hundred scalpers. It's pretty hard to do, even if you're in the arena right towards the end of the game, in their section, and being aggressive.
