Iowa shot 53% overall and hit eight 3s, but NU kept it close and trails just 41-35 at the half.

The Cats got 14 points from Kopp and have a commanding 15-2 edge in second-chance points. They have a 22-11 advantage in rebounds.

Garza went off for 10 points in the first four minutes, but he didn't score again and was limited to one rebound.

NU played a really good half but went cold in the last few minutes. Plenty of time left. GO CATS!

Iowa has hit 50% of their 3s so far, 9 of 18. They should cool off at some point: they came in shooting 34.7%.

When their 7 footers shoot 3's better than our guards, that spells trouble.

Both bigs out with four fouls, Garza in scores a bunch. 58-46.

meanwhile cats’ static outside offense fails to get good looks against the zone

So Iowa switched to zone late in the first and slowed our offense down.

CC has been in love with zone all season and decides to stick to man with both bigs in foul trouble against Garza. Hmmm

Nance needs to spend the entire off season working on some Arc to his shot. Played very aggressive today and did great rebounding just can't make a shot. they're all line drives No matter how short the shot

Brutal sequence for NU: Beran misses a dunk on one hand, Iowa pushes the ball up, Garza gets a layup and a foul on the other end. Iowa has its largest lead, 64-50, with 7:00 left, pending the free throw.

I fear this is going to be the story of the season. NU is able to hang around in the first half, but the young guys just don’t have the strength and stamina to sustain it for all 40 minutes. Not with a 6-man rotation, with a splash of Greer and Jones.

I maintain that there’s a lot to like from this core. Kopp and Beran are getting good, fast.

Spencer must have five or six turnovers already this game trying to drive through traffic he just does not have that good a handle.
