NU got behind early, then rallied to cut it to four, but that last 12-3 run put Maryland in front 37-25 at the half.

Jalen Smith has been a man for Maryland, with 12 points and 12 rebounds. The Terps also have 12 assists on 13 baskets -- that's amazing.

Boo Buie led NU's offense with nine points, while Ryan Young has six points and five boards.

This wasn't the homecoming that Pat Spencer envisioned: he is 0-for-3 from the floor and has two points.

Kind of scary how many of the MD shots were wide open.

Why not more touches to Ryan Young? Impressive seeing him going up against so many physical bigs and showing impressive footwork

Would be very surprised if we somehow win this, but really glad to see us battling back like this on the road against a top ten team. After that Michigan game, I thought we may have finally broke and quit, but there’s still some fight left in these guys despite a terrible season with a ton of heartbreaking losses. A silver lining I suppose, but that’s a good sign.

Maryland is playing with no intensity. If this game gets tighter, we'll see if they turn it up a notch. Our problem all season is that when other teams turn up the intensity, we don't have the talent to match them. We can hang with teams when they aren't playing hard, but once they get into it, we're done. We'll see what happens if we can get this thing under 4. Maybe MD will tighten up this time.

Nice to see that are tough to scorers are freshmen. Getting good scoring from guards and Center not much from forwards

2 minutes to go 10 fouls on us 3 on Maryland
Lack of athleticism. Basketball is a game of quickness and athleticism. We have next to none. That's how you get huge foul disparities and an opposing center who has a 20-20 game.

I give credit to the coaches and the team that we keep playing hard against brutally tough teams every night. I agree with C that we are not as close as we seem because we can’t hang when teams play with urgency. But we do have some talent, heart and just enough pieces that things could come together next year. All the guys show flashes: Buie, Kopp, Young, Jones, Beran and now Nance is playing with more intensity.
