That was an entertaining half.

Miller Kopp has 14 points, Buie and Nance have 4 each, and everyone else has 2. NU’s bench has been vital again, with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.

Ohio State had success inside early, but since then, Towns has hurt them from the outside. He’s got 11 points, including three 3s.

Turnovers had been big in this one, as OSU’s eight turnovers had led to a lot of fast-break buckets for the Cats.

Anyone else fee like there were 4 or 5 over the backs that could’ve been called on dOSU that first half? Kept expecting the call, and consistently surprised at the lack.
Lots of great energy that first half! Go ‘Cats!

Agree I saw 2 that were pretty obvious. Refs letting them play

Forcing turnovers and playing defense pretty well - without fouling - is a nice difference from last year. With our depth, rotating players when we want to rather than when forced by foul trouble.

When a player slaps the backboard playing defense I thought it is supposed to be a goal tending...perhaps not...

Pleased with Buie's decision making today. Good driving layups and good passes. Not as much out of control play today as he is sometimes prone to.

Jinxed it. Way too many early fouls here in the second half. Gotta box out better.

A frustrating start to the second half. Missed some easy shots.

Credit to OSU, they hustle on defense. It’s not just us missing shots

More minutes for RY

Young's low post play is always impressive.

He opens up the whole offense. Kicking the ball inside to him creates spacing for the shooters. He is also the best screener and positional rebounder from what I have seen .

RY is a big in the tradition of bigs who understand angles.

Still rushes things here and there worried his lack of athleticism will get his shot blocked. Some bunnies are missed.

By the time he’s done in purple, he will have been one of our all time best bigs. Provided CC actually gives him minutes

Do not like this lineup. Don’t think we rate well when we have Gaines and Greer in the rotation. Not enough shot creators or slashers/passers around the arc.

If it were Kopp instead of Gaines taking that corner 3, there's a very good chance NU is tied instead of down 5.

Hope he's ok. Not sure NU can put enough points up with the current lineup.

I like how we are gutting this out and keeping it close even when we're not playing that smoothly on offense.

Gut feeling watching this game is that today OSU is just a little better than us

When he is in he game, OSU’s lead shrinks. As soon as he comes out, their lead expands. Pretty simplistic but that tells me something.

Refs finally make a call to wave off Beran basket. BIG needs these guys at the Sugar Bowl.

We are down 34-21 on the boards. Interesting to wonder what’s our +/- on the glass with and without Young

Now I see the problem. Nance and Young can’t play together. Need another shooter on the floor.

That's two point-blank misses in the second half, first from Kopp then from Buie. That hurts. Still very much in it, though. And the foul margin is narrowing.

Young with the jam! I hope that settled the debate whether he can dunk.
