Northwestern, following its recent M.O., got off to another hot start against the Lions. Miller Kopp hit a 3-pointer from the wing and Boo Buie banked in a running floater to give the Wildcats a 5-0 lead out of the gate.

The Cats hit five of their first nine shots to lead 11-9 at the first media timeout, as Kopp and Pat Spencer had two baskets each.

But the Lions’ combination of 3-pointers and offensive rebounds reeled the Wildcats in and then put them in the rear-view mirror.

An Izaiah Brockington layup gave Penn State a double-digit lead at 29-19 at the 7:23 mark. The Lions pushed the advantage to 42-25 after Brockington’s putback of his own miss before Northwestern scored the last four points to go into the locker room trailing 42-28.

Penn State hit 7 of 21 3-pointers in the half and pulled down nine offensive rebounds, leading to a 9-0 advantage in second-chance points. The Lions enjoyed a 25-15 edge in overall rebounds.

Pete Nance, playing his best basketball in a LONG time, scored eight points on 4-for-4 shooting to lead the Wildcats, while Pat Spencer added seven points.

Lamar Stevens leads Penn State with 10 points, while Mike Watkins and Myles Dread have eight a piece.

Seems like, today, we won’t scare them unless Buie goes off on one of his 9 points in 3 posessions runs

Really hard to watch the CATS get pushed all over the floor again. Hope they'll be competitive again next season.

Anyone else completely forget there was a game today? That’s a first for me.

With age you always start wondering when the check engine light might go on. I’d forget if I did not have the games on my calendar o_O

My ability to enter the kitchen and forget what I went there for has never been higher.
