Well, that was a brutal 20 minutes. NU's starters combined to hit 3 of 22 shots for SEVEN total points in the first half, as B-Mac, Pardon and Lumpkin were shut out. NU shot 26.5%, hit just 2-13 3s, had 2 assists, 6 turnovers and 11 fouls. Somehow, they trail by just 3. I guess that's because they're playing Rutgers.

On the plus side...thank god for Isiah Brown, who came off the bench to score 11 points, while the rest of the team managed just 14. NU also has 9 blocks (Pardon has 4) and, after giving up a lot of offensive rebounds early, are actually ahead in rebounds (25-24) and offensive rebounds (12-11).

If the Cats just play average basketball in the second half, they should win fairly easily.

That same ref called a charge on Lindsey in the first half and then the blocking foul on Skelly there. Both were questionable calls.

WGN radio is saying he is sick. Brown has been a catalyst. Great performance by the freshman. Benson looked good and then summarily got benched. Needs to get more minutes before we play Purdue twice.

Lumpkin really needs to play smarter.

All his fouls are either reach-ins or obviously dumb plays like this hip check screen.

Pardon has EIGHT blocks with 7:55 left. He could get a triple double if he picks up his scoring.

Man, I grow tired of watching BMac throw up off balance, crazy runners in the lane that never go in.

And the amazing Kreskin-- I mean Vaccher-- strikes again! But seriously, the difference between good teams and bad team was on display tonight. As soon as Rutgers did not advantage of our atrocious play in the first half, they were toast.
