Any installers/consumers ever installed or had problems with a break glass sensor inside a garage?
The garage is not heated/cooled. The reason I ask is the security company installed a break glass sensor inside my garage when the house was built. It did not last very long before it malfunctioned and I started bypassing it because it would randomly trigger the alarm. The company told me to adjust the sensitivity setting because the temperature change in the garage was causing an issue with it as the seasons changed. They later said they don't normally install sensors in unconditioned settings. (I can see this for a motion detector) The sensor is hardwired.
Does this sound legit or is the company not wanting to replace it? Just seeking advice to see if I should have the thing replaced with a new sensor, or removed permanently?
