I just saw they lost again tonight. Without tournament champ, is UConn definitely a NIT team now? or they have chance in big dance?

They suck. You have to wonder what will become of that program. Between Boatright being preseason POY, Hamilton and Purvis being big time recruits and Brimah getting good experience in last year's NCAA's, there's no excuse as to why they aren't an NCAA team.

Makes me even more sour that UK doesn't already have #9.

Got to give them at least half a chance to win their conference tourney. SMU is the class of that league, and they aren't exactly dominant. But outside of that, it's NIT.

According to Joey Brackets, they're out unless they win their conference tournament.

I feel kind of bad for UConn, Memphis, and Cincinnati. They're basically schools stuck without a legitimate conference.

GBB!!!

They got shut out of the Big East because they are public schools. However, I don't necessarily feel bad. The AAC SHOULD be better than it is. Cincinnati, Memphis and Connecticut aren't near as consistently good as they were 5-10 years ago. SMU is solid, and Temple is historically a solid program. Given their locations, I also think South Florida, Central Florida and Houston can all be significantly better.

I thought Ollie was such a great coach, winning the title in his first year with grumpy Calhouns players? Sounds familiar. If he doesnt bolt, he'll be fired in 4-5 years for taking a premiere program and turning it mediocre. They wont keep him 10, only our dumbazz would.

No hate on UConn as a team or their coaches, but their fans deserve the NIT. No question about that.

That was a costly loss for them. They stand at 17-12, 4 games behind Tulsa and SMU in a conference which isn't exactly highly thought of. They definitely have to win their tournament to get in. They could, especially in Hartford. UConn's basketball program is being hurt by their football one which of course is what drove conference realignments. What I don't really understand is why they didn't stay in the Big East. Villanova doesn't even play football at the FBS level, yet they are in line for a #1 seed as champions of the BE. Perhaps they were incented by money, and they hope the American will become a player, but I think they'd have been better off staying where they were.

win out from here or its NIT. Last night killed them. LSU has their spot right now. If LSU loses their last sec game and 1st game of the tourney I think their out as well.
