Here we go... it's noon on Memorial Day... time to see if UK gets to play anymore baseball, or if we sit and home and watch the tournament.
They are talking up Kentucky and Alabama not being in and said that they should be in with a .500 SEC record. However, with UK having the roster that we did this year there is no excuse for us not being solidly into the tournament, especially since all we had to do was beat a couple of the SEC's worst team.
The Auburn and Arkansas series certainly hurt this team, especially Arkansas which was wretched coming into the UK series and probably even worse in the weeks after.
But you just cant excuse away all the midweek losses to practically every D1 team in Kentucky. Louisville yes, but the rest are (to me) the reason why they are sitting home today.
Sure youre not pitching your best in these games, but on talent alone you should win the majority and we basically got swept....inexcusable.
Cb3...Come on you follow this as much as anybody...when you lose to every team in the state ,except Murray, and are totally embarrassed by wku plus lose series to the two worst teams in the conference you know your prospects aren't good...then you get in the sec tournament and have an ABSOLUTE MUST WIN game and you don't throw your ace pitcher, but instead pitch a guy who had never started an sec game...everybody that post here, except maybe for Gabe, knows and agrees that it is time for a major overhaul of the program and for a new stadium to be started THIS SUMMER, not in 2017...the $$$$$folks and the administration need to get off the pot and get this done...PERIODI have to say that it is pretty awesome that Hairston's walkoff against South Carolina is the leadoff highlight on the selection show.
We aren't in the Louisville regional. Pretty much means we're probably out.
However, Washington got into the tournament. They have an RPI of 55 and have a similar record to UK.

Look I HATE OTIS, but to be fair what you say is wrong...they had an outstanding record against a quality schedule and now play in what is probably the second best conference in cbb...they have beaten us 5 times in a row and are surely one of the major favorites to not only make the CWS, but to win the entire thing...be pissed at the UK administration and the $$$$ folks for now doing what it takes to win. IF YOU BUILD THIS THE#BBN WILL COMEJust a dreadful year for Henderson. Have to get rid of him now. No excuse for not making the tourney with that roster. Also, total garbage that UL gets the national 2 seed. Their resume is not worthy of that seed. The only basis for that ranking is the RPI, and if they're just going to use RPI, they may as well not have a committee.
Now that it is over, remember a couple of weeks ago I told you about sitting and talking to one of the players family members and I told you I would tell you it was after this season was over , well ît was a "very close" member of the Strecker family...individual told us GH was the worst HC he had ever seen SS play for.Either way, Henderson's poor coaching did this. Why did he not find a better spot for Brown and replace him with possibly Logue, Lewis, or Strecker? Why didn't he ever move someone like Shelby or McNeil further down in the lineup when they struggled? Why couldn't he ever find a replacement for McNeil? Why didn't he ever change the defensive lineup when Mahan struggled at short? Why did he insist on playing guys like Carson and Heady when they have shown that their bats are practically nonexistent?
I could probably go on, but I think in the grand scheme, there are few things that Henderson did right this year.

8yrs HC...6 non ncaa trips. What are the excuses for the other 5 seasons? No, it is time for a complete overhaul including STOP TALKING ABOUT THE STADIUM AND BUILD THE DAMN THING.It is not that I don't want a change, I just don't believe that Barnhart will pull the trigger. The way Chris Burke talked about UK and Alabama not being selected leads me to believe that he is in line to grab one of the SEC openings next year. Anyway, UK had too many holes in their lineup to make a viable run to Omaha this past season. I prefer to change the batting coach, Eckstein, who allowed Shelby, McNeill and Becker to wallow in 2nd half slumps without changing their approach to batting. I have never seen more curve balls out of the batter;s box keep fooling Shelby and McNeill throughout the secpnd half of the year and not trying to make an adjustment.
Don't know how many of you follow Zack Brown on Twitter, but his tweets today show he can't get out of Lexington fast enough. Whole weekend staff gone next year and Shelby will go pro. Poor Evan White.

We didn't even make the tournament and you want to talk smack about Louisville? Come on man...What i said is not wrong, you just happen to disagree with it. Here is my reasoning:
-They didn't win their league title or tourney title (unlike Miss State, A&M, Miami, Clemson, and Texas Tech which made up 5 of the other 7 national seeds). The 6th would be Florida and they have a better resume and RPI than UL. The only reason that UL could justifiably be placed at #2 would be RPI.
The lost nearly every road series against good teams (Ole Miss, FSU, Miami, BC). Their only good road series win was UNC and they didn't make the tourney.
There's no doubt that UL has good talent and had a really good year, but they did not deserve the 2 seed. Giving them that seed places them on the opposite side of the bracket away from Florida, A&M, LSU.

You know this for a fact ? Henderson had no HC experience, he got hired. If you have watched or listened to any Sec games, which I doubt, you would learn that he is knowledgble in all facets of the game, he is very personable, unlike Hendo. He played for Rod Delmonico, an outstanding coach at UT. He was Sec player of the year in 2001, a 3 time AA, and played for 6 or 7 years in the Big leagues. He would of course have to hire a staff, but I am sure he could do fine at that. Also, being an Sec color analyst he has been around the Floridas, LSU's, A&M's to see how the Big Boys do things. He may or may not be interested, but there are others who could fill the bill, as I have posted several times in the past few weeks.Yeah let's replace Henderson with a guy who has no coaching experience whatsoever. Are you all really being serious? I like Chris Burke but he is not ready to coach in the SEC.
