No. I’m not referring to a specific person, actually. We need to get good enough talent —- we don’t have to have the elite of the elite talent. We need pieces that work together, want to be here and want to stay here. Continuity matters more than raw talent.

Well with dent the offers were the same he just chose home. Chaz laneir choose home. Caleb Wilson choose a bag, but I don’t think that’s as huge a loss for Kentucky as we all thought
You do realize we have no clue how good this team will be with or without him? He's a good player but man idk why people are acting like he was the gem of the portal and we needed him to have a chance. Wouldn't even have been out best transfer.

We have to get a shooter. We have 1 guy who has proven in college that he can shoot.

We have a lot of guys that can shoot as is Lowe will be better than last year, Chandler, Williams, Noah. And both of our PF guys are pretty good for big guys.
You would think the player outright saying "I want to be THE GUY, not just another guy" would show their intention in making the choice.

I think Caleb Wilson always preferred UNC if the money was equal. Nothing negative against UK, my understanding was just that he was kind of a UNC fan. But I wasn't too bothered by Wilson picking UNC because I always thought he should be a 2nd unit guy due to who I hoped UK could get in the portal. Of course, then we turned around and either struck out on or didn't pursue strongly (?) the PFs I hoped UK would get from the portal for the starting PF spot. But I still wouldn't want Wilson as the starting PF on next season's team.
All we need is a 2G who has demonstrated they can shoot at a fairly high volume and make around 40% from 3P range. There are literally dozens of those kind of guys out there and I don't think any one of them is vastly superior to the other. Just grab one of them and we're cooking.
Another potential option is jestin porter. He would be a true combo guard though, as he is only 6’1

Starting to look like next season will depend on how ready JJ is to be starting 2.

Because Pope wants to have a complete team and not blow his whole wad on one or two players that may or may not be as good at the next level. I like you Saul but you need to step off of the ledge. Yeah, shooters like Wilkerson don't grow on trees. Know what else doesn't? MONEY. You act as though UK just has an unlimited supply of it. They don't. It's a finite resource that has to be spent wisely. Duke had the best player in the country last year and didn't make it to the championship game. One player isn't going to make or break winning a title. We had several players we needed to get back so we could have some continuity, which is essential for winning a championship. I'm sure keeping those players wasn't cheap. We also added some really good players too that cost money. It's easy to cry about someone else not spending their money to get a player YOU want. Especially when you have no idea how much money they have and just assume it's unlimited. Pope will find a shooter. This team is already an upgrade over last year's roster, and we were easily a top 5-10 team before the injury bug hit. We also beat the national champs. We are all disappointed we didn't get Wilkerson but it's not the end of the world dude. Pope will move on and so should you.

I think Sellers would be equal to Wilkerson if not better, and that's not sour grapes. He's quicker with the ball and probably a more explosive athlete. Not to mention, he has more experience against tougher opponents.
