Definitely worth listening to this video. Coach Knowles gives good responses, measured, not overly effusive about any players, but sounds satisfied with progress to this point in the season. His major concerns were: need much more improvement in 3rd & 4th down situations (mentioned knocking ball carriers back & not allowing their forward progress in those situations) and is still searching for LBer depth beyond first three of Campbell, Rojas, and Deluca. Apparently Tastch (Freshman LBer) has shown enough good LBer instincts in practice to merit a closer look w/PT in games.
I don't think "overly effusive" and Jim Knowles will ever be used together. He does like Rojas a lot and said he is playing much better than what he saw on film so that is great. Tatsch sounds like he will be our next great linebacker and Dixon sounds like he is a special talent. Back to Rojas, he will be critical vs Oregon. He needs to match their speed to the outside on their run plays. They also have a really good TE that Rojas will match up with, I imagine.
