Serious question re:Baker

I never played football other than playground. I was a BB guy. But a question for you who did play. The fans have yelled and screamed a lot this year about how many drops he had. For good reason. But, and I didn't look this up, it seemed like he was our No.1 target. Why? Does he run a better route than the other receivers? Is he faster? Is it height? Was wondering this during the game yesterday.

Corners play soft on him.
Baker is not a very good wide receiver, but he does a good job of fighting with the ball.
I guess it's a risk/ reward type thing.

He has been WIDE open a lot this year... However he's not nearly as fast or athletic as Jeff or Juice.

I think he probably has as much natural ability then anyone we have which may be the reason that he looks like he's not giving his all sometimes. He does fail to do the little things sometimes like continuing to keep blocking downfield and fighting to keep passes from being intercepted. But this all can be fixed so his future could be great here.
