Perry Ellis is definitely a guy who benefitted early in his career from low expectations. He hit his ceiling his freshman season in my opinion. He's a good role player, but as a focal point of your offense he can't cut it. That's just a fact. I like his grit and effort but that will only take you so far. He's gone about as far as he can go.

Thought that might be it, but Cal recruited Willis too, and there wasn't/isn't very expectations for him either. But I tend to agree. Ellis was a pretty high value target and the low expectations thing didn't sound right to me either.

Though he had a decent game tonight as a whole the ku frontline has not been in espns words " one of the best frontlines in the country". Far far from it.
