Sestina out for the next game. I haven't heard why.

I'm wondering if it was something like unsportsmanlike conduct brought down by the TBT for the L's down. Surely not.

Previous family obligation. That's why you don't hang banners for this stuff. It's really just for fun.

We should be able to add a player to the roster…. Derek Willis out of college yet? Is Darius Miller or Dlamb available

Yep, I don't think they stand a chance without Sestina, Bledsoe had more turnovers than points, Kanter's brother didn't show up against Louisville. I always trusted the Harrisons with drive to the basket floaters, and that's what our best scoring option will be, probably won't be enough.

I’m betting he has to attend a wedding (not his own, maybe a sister or sister-in-law or friend of wife). I doubt his wife would let him out of it.

I get that it's not THAT important and family comes first yada yada but that feels pretty lame...reschedule vacation or fly out before/after game.
I'm not sure what he makes playing in Spain, but as someone said, this really is for fun. The players will get at most $70K each, and while that is plenty of money, it doesn't move the needle with quite a few of these guys. I have no idea what the family obligation is, but I do believe family is very important and if he feels like it is more important than the game, it is. As fans it sucks, but these guys owe the fans nothing at this point.

How much do non NBA players make a year?

70k is a nice bonus if nothing else.

Apparently family obligation.

Which I get but man. This is a tournament with money in the line.

We probably lose without him. Sucks. At least we beat the Birds. But losing to those cocky Ohio St jerks is just as bad.
That’s the spirit!

Its not a family obligation, if he had one that would make him miss the game he wouldnt have signed up for this as they knew the dates of the final four in TBT. I bet we later find out he was suspended because I did hear the people that hosted the game at freedom hall threw a huge sh*t fit

Unless it is something that just came up, the family obligation thing just doesn't sit well with me. You know the tournament dates, unless he told them ahead of time "IF we make it to Philly, I will not be available", then that is BS. Same for Doron Lamb, Teague, and the other player that slips my mind. YOU knew your obligations BEFORE you committed to playing. If your leagues team prohibited you from playing, you should have checked FIRST before committing. Sestina has been a solid player, but he only had the ONE truly great night, other nights, he scored, but didn't shoot it great. His size is what will really be missed, this team is guard heavy, now WCS will really have to step up (not the player you really want to HAVE to show up), Kanter will need to play like he did the first two games. Also, Bledsoe needs to play a complete game, not disappear for spans. Young had the one solid game where he hit a couple 3's, he will have to be more consistent.

Kanter, Bledsoe, WCS and the twins all 5 have to have good games, not OK ones. Depth without Sestina will take a big hit, especially with his size. Grady and then Young (played very little), is the only bench depth the team has. The starting 5 are going to have to play a ton of minutes, Grady just hasn't shown he can play meaningful minutes, same for Young. LaFamilia Might need to play a slower pace, not something that really suits Bledsoe's game.

To the one poster who suggested adding Miller or Willis, I do not think you can add players to the roster after the tournament starts. If they was not listed on the original roster, you can't add them. Brendan Canada, it may be your time to shine, LOL. OSU alums are good, they go about 8 deep, so it will be tough. The also have a ton of size upfront.
