SF Question/s

Please note - this question is not about the merits of the SF factor, as that gets debated frequently enough. I'm curious about the mechanics.

As I understand it, both MCHS and SHG will play in 7A next season, regardless of how this post-season goes for both teams. So my questions are how this plays out at that point, if:

1. Either team advances to the 7A state final next season - a real long shot I understand, but just trying to understand the next step. What playoff class would the team/s in question play in 2017?

2. Neither team makes the 7A state final - what playoff class do they compete in for the 2017 season? It seems could be anywhere between 5A-7A?

Found this-I am not sure SHG is in 7A next year. Would have to get to title game I think.

If a non-public school football team plays in two state championship games over a four-year period will be bumped up one class on top of the current multiplier. Sacred Heart-Griffin, a Catholic school, beat another Catholic institution, Lombard Montini, for the Class 5A state title in November. It was SHG’s first football title since 2008 while it ended Montini’s run of four consecutive 5A titles.Next year, Montini will be in Class 6A for football thanks to the bump. If SHG makes another title game in 2014, 2015 or 2016, the Cyclones will also be in 6A.Crazier yet, in 2015 Montini will be 7A because the rule states if teams compete in three championship games in that four-year stretch, they move up two classes.

My understanding is
2016 SHG 6A MCHS 7A Assuming neither make title game. SHG would be 7A if they make the title game. I also believe 2017 MCHS would be in 8A if they made the title game.

Thanks to those who managed to stay on topic - still not sure I understand what class a team affected by the SF revert to once they are not in the state finals, but appreciate the clarification.

My guess is SHG could go back to 5A in 2017 if they do not make the title game in 6A this season or in ’16. That would conclude their 2 titles/title games in 4 years and ’17 would be year 5 ergo back to 5A.
However if they make title game in Nov they go 7A in '16? I don't know I feel like Tommy in Shawshank taking GED test. 2 points.... right there

So ... will that help or hurt recruiting?
I would think it has to hurt recruiting. As good as MCHS is I don't see them being a factor for 5 straight weeks against 7A & 8A schools. Maybe quarterfinals in each based on the draw.
